Uuuh this is not going to be a easy one to find on the Internet. I have seen a couple in news papers and such but really nothing on the Internet. The national anti-terrorist unit in Finland is Osasto Karhu, or "Team Bear", which of course sometimes is nicknamed Karhukopla ("the bear gang"), which is also the finnish name of these guys. Finland is by some reason the country in which Donald Duck is most popular.

There is also "SWAT"-like teams in local police districts but pictures of these is also very rare in newspapers and such. Strange enough because there is a lot of firearms s in Finland. I think itīs 39 per 100 individuals which means that murders in Finland is most likely commited with firearms while they in countries with less weapons are commited with knives and so forth. I will do my best and try to find some pictures of what you want, but I canīt promise anything.

There is no direct connection between the amount of weapons and the percentage use of them in homocides. It's 36 firearms pr 100 individuals in Norway, and only 15 out of 42 homocides last year involved firearms. In 8 out of those 15 killings G3 from the Home Guard were used.

1. I don't know exactly who these guys are, but we can guess its a police CT team.
2. I don't remember where the pics came from.

Actually those are not police but army special jaegers (erikoisjääkärit). They are trained at the Utti Jaeger regiment which is the Finnish Defence Forces training and development centre for special forces and helicopter operations. A english summary here:

Yup. Here is a add for them which I find a little embarrasing actually. Itīs so wannabe (with those helmets and all), and itīs so... I donīt know what. But maybe it will get a lot of young kids to apply, maybe.

Kova = HARD
Hae nyt = APPLY NOW
Ok... because of the training scenario (public building, guys who look like hostage-takers), I guessed it was special poilce team like SWAT.

KoVa means also Koulutus- ja valmiusosasto, Training and readiness group. All the members have been through the special jaeger training. By appling to the group the commit to serving for another year, to recieve more extensive training in special force tyle actions like parachuting, recon, close protection duties and hand-to-hand fighting. So basically it's just a year's expansion to conscript time. It offers one possibility to train new skills and to use the latest equipment.

I've often been a bit embarrased about that particular poster myself, it is indeed a bit too "wannabe" for my taste as well.

They're UMP9's. Great vids btw, haven't seen Karhu in action before.
