Hmm, what did I do this weekend? An exercise! What exactly?

Well, it was high altitude survival in Alpine conditions of the Cascade Mountains. The weekend involved one day of lecture, two days of field practice involving Avalanche survival, retrieval, and spotting. Additionally, we learned how to use avalanches to our benefit as the terrain dictates, thus immobilizing and effectively killing the enemy. That’s my last exercise conducted this prior weekend. What do I know, I’m only in the Infantry reserve after all.
