Terror Plot In Texas?
DALLAS, Jan. 7, 2004

In the East Texas hamlet of Noonday -- known for onions, not anarchy -- federal agents arrested a common-law couple last April. They were hiding a weapons cache, including, as CBS News Correspondent Bob McNamara reports, the makings of a sophisticated sodium cyanide bomb capable of killing thousands.

William Krar, 62, with ties to white supremacist groups, pleaded guilty to possessing a chemical weapon and faces life in prison, while 54-year-old Judith Bruey could get five years. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess illegal weapons.

"They certainly had the capacity to be extremely dangerous," says U.S. assistant attorney Wes Rivers.

What agents found at a storage facility shocked them.

Photographs obtained by Dallas CBS station KTVT show illegal machine guns, boxes filled with 500,000 rounds of ammunition, homemade bombs, bomb-making instructions, antidotes for nerve agents and a Ku Klux Klan calling card.

All of it discovered after fake documents Krar mailed to an alleged New Jersey militia member were actually delivered to a New York address.

Teresa Staples, the storage owner, asks: "Why did they pick such a small storage facility? Why did they pick this town?"

Mysterious, too, are seized papers indicating plans for a covert operation.

One document titled "procedure" lists code words for meeting places in nine cities to be referred to as "zones." Other notes give code words and instructions on how to throw law enforcement off their trail.

In the wake of Sept. 11, there is concern that homegrown terrorists may be operating under the federal radar.

"It‘s scary when you look at the capabilities, look at the vulnerabilities of our society," says former FBI agent Danny Coulson. "We don‘t have to concern ourselves so much with only foreign terrorists, but we need to concern ourselves with domestic terrorists too, and these guys are dangerous."

Also unsettling is the fact that Krar and the others have refused to cooperate with authorities. If they did have a target for terror planned, they will likely take it to prison when they‘re sentenced next month.

hell, i'm glad they found it and didn't use it to kill innocent American's.

Prison?

****, if i was leading the team that caught em i woullda put some nine in their faces.

These people dont deserve to be tried as criminals in an American court, they deserve to be tried with them bastards down at gitmo...

Whats even scarrier than the fact that they had this bomb, is the fact that they probably had no detailed knowledge off it, and the chances of it accidentally detonating and killing thousands sends chills down ones spine.

Its definately time that someone starts removing these bomb "recipes" from the internet.

No, but there are legitimate uses for ammunition. What exactly is the legitimate legal use of a cyanide bomb?

While Muslim extremist terrorism is the #1 threat to the United States, this should be a wake-up call that it's not the only threat. People forget too quickly that before 9/11/01, the worst terrorist attack in United States history was done by white supremacist Timothy McVeigh.

Whats with your attitude man?
What age are you you ?have the mindset of a 14 year old,all you seem to want to do is kill terrorists or anybody that doesn't agree to your way of thinking.............you want to do something for your Country join the Armed forces or a LE agency.........I doubt they'd have you with your attitude problems

Indeed if you were the team leader you'd put some 9 in their face..........what a magnificent example of how NOT to be a good Cop.
No assessing the situation, and whether they posed an immediate threat, execution is what you're stating.........you'd end up in the State penitentiary with an asshole like a burst Orange!

So when one of those "teams" come busting down your door are you just gonna say "Innocent sorry!" when they start pumping your ass full of 9 milli?. Everyone has the right of a fair trial. EVEN those who have commited acts of terrorism.

And no, they dont deserve to be tried in an American court, because no American seems to be able to be unpartial. Which is imperative to a fair trial. If you dont have an impartial judge then the sentence will never be fair. They should be tried in Geneva if anywhere. Since the US attacked Iraq without UN backing Id say that Iraq has a right to defend themselves and attack the United states on US soil afterwards.

all you seem to want to do is kill terrorists

And theres something wrong with that?

These are people who could have killed more people with one bomb than 4 planes killed on 9-11.

They dont deserve jack ****.

For your average murderer or robber, yeah, i can see a trial. But these people got caught red-handed witha weapon of mass destruction. Fair trial my ass. They deserve to be shot. After of course every bit of intelligence is sucked outta their twisted heads.

Maybe its easy for you people to say "let them alone" as you sit in Sweden smoking pot and sipping $9 a cup coffee... But here in America we have already seen what these people want to do. They want us dead. Anyone that disagrees with their twisted beliefs of Racism, murder and their perverted religious views- they want them dead. So the only way to keep them from killing the innocent is to kill them first. Each and every one of them.

I dont mean just al Queda, i mean the enviro-terrorists, the red terrorists, the narco-terrorists, the facsist and racist radicals, the radical muslim whackos. They are all a threat to the safety and well being of every person in the world who believes anything other than what they do, with the exception of those who support them. And as weve already seen, this time America wont sit idle, no no, we will jail or kill every single terrorist we possibly can, and we will disassemble the shadowy networks of money, and drugs, and arms and people smuggling that funds, equips and supports them. In this new war, you are either with freedom, or you are with perverted murder.

You give scumbags a fair trial because we are the good guys.
because when you start down the road of shoot to kill it can quickly go **** up. Just look at some of the stuff thats alleged to have happened in Ulster before you get all high and mighty on your crusade or even ruby ridge :(

That was one big weapons cache the good ole boy had some of which included over 100,000 rounds of ammo 65 IED's and ED's which included some concealed in briefcases that could be detonated by remote control, 800 grams of almost pure sodium cyanide along with a **** load of guns.
So what's the verdict on this guy, crank or the quartermaster to a larger group, he certainly seems well connected having ties to militias in new Hampshire and New Jersey I had thought all this white patriot and militia stuff had died a death after the 1995 Oklahoma attack but according to the Southern Poverty Law Centre there has been up to 40 major conspiracies since 1995.

The fact is, the number of domestic terrorist acts in the past five years far outweighs the number of international acts, says Mark Pitcavage of the fact-finding department at the Anti-Defamation League. "We do have home-grown hate in the United States, people who are just as ill-disposed to the American government as any international terrorist group," he says. Levitas estimates that there are approximately 25,000 right-wing extremist members and activists and some 250,000 sympathizers. The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 708 hate groups in 2002.
Having spent a wee while browsing at www.adl.org it certainly opened my eyes to US domestic hate and terror groups I always knew the Bund had been around since the 1930's along with all the Nazi groups who were hell bent on a new Reich but I thought the government hating militia's were long gone Oh well you learn something new everyday.

Are you kidding? Those militia groups are FAR from extinct...

Thats the problem with having freedoms, assholes like that use it for all the wrong things.

I am curious as to what legal status militias are afforded under state law and does the state or county use them in any way in civil emergencies or missing persons. I am sort of playing catch up with extremist militias I thought they were a thing of the past after the 1995 bombing and was surprised to hear about Krar and his cache of weapons, is there anyone out there who can explain their obsession with The New World Order, the UN occupation of America and tax (I am under the impression that US tax is low).
