This is my new rifle from Rock River Arms. If it's good enough for the DEA, it's good enough for me! I decided to ditch the idea of getting a pistol when I saw this beauty at the gun show. Enjoy! :D

This model has a removable birdcage flash supressor, flat top with removable rear sight w/raised rail, side and bottom sling swivel, 6 position telestock, and a nice rubberized ergodynamic pistol grip. I love her.

Just curious, but what is the point of running a 1913 rail in a riser mount position on the "carrying" handle (not going to be doing much more carrying with that) instead of just mouning a cut down one so only the rear ap is there? Really, it screws up a lot of mounting options, espeically since you will need an aftermarket pad to get a good cheekweld (atleast I would, in the AR-15s i've handled I could never get a good position for my head for rised optics). But hey, atleast it looks cool, and if it works for you all the better.

Well you're not supposed to actually use the 'carrying handle' as a carrying handle. At least i've heard and practiced. Some people mount their aimpoints higher up than normal as well, and this would eliminate the need for the piece to mount it higher. Also, by putting an optic there, the iron sights would not get in the way of the sight picture but they are still on the gun. Good Question, but it does depend on the shooter. That extra rail wasn't what really sold it to me, but I thought it might be usefull.

MSRP from their website is 950.00. That is for exactly what you see in the above photos.

Nice gun. Don't let the bitches get you down. You can accessorize it anyway you want.

;)

Been considering getting a 9mm upper and a 6.8mm, but I hav been dragging my feet. I still need to buy that 10/22 for my girlfriend first AND a new surf fishing rod for vacation next week.

Too many goodies never enough money. :D

I may shove the 9mm though and roll a Storm since I have a dozen hi-cap 92 mags now.

Decisions, decisions.

I've been thinking the same about the 9mm upper but it would have to be an SBR, but I may as well put that on the back burner. My current plans are to sell my Eotech off my Dissy and get a IOR CQB for it.

10/22 for the lady should be your first priority :P

If you go the way of the storm, you could always let Brian do the smithing for you, he did an excellent job on Craig's storm. I was really pleased with the work he did on my Bushy M4gery.

What did he do to it? I thought it was stock with all the extra P-rails available?

Oh, and what's Brian's screen name on AR-15.com? I've been meaning to talk to him about working on an old DPMS upper that I have lying around. I need to thread the barrel and sell it.

I thought he shortened the barrel slightly but I know for sure he fitted that 3 ****g flash hider. I originally thought he did the rail work but as you said now that I think about it, you're right on the rails.

Johnny Mc Eldo or somethingvery close to that.

I'm lookin' into RRA for my next buy. I 'm thinkin' of gettin' an upper like the Entry Tactical for my Bushmaster... Maybe it would be better than gettin' an entirely new rifle.

Have they worked out the ammo 'issues' with the 6.8 yet?
To the best of my knowledge the 6.8 ammunition is'nt on the market yet,
due to pressure spikes. Then again I have'nt heard anything for a while.

Personally, I have not seen any 6.8 being sold at any of the gun stores here in Charlotte. I've heard what you've just said: that Remington are having problems with production. However, there are some folks who seem to handload 6.8. I would never do it. I think I'd pose a safety-hazard to myself.

hi,

so is your new rifle an M4?? I get confused with all the names, CAR15, XM177 etc....

Cheers
Dave

Its not an "M4" persay but a copy of it because the name M4 is a trademark of Colt. Hence the word M4gery.

And yes Im a member on ar15.com

Thanks, I appreciate it.
Have'nt heard about Army brass trying to kill the project, but then again politics is bound to play a part in whatever happens. I've also heard some rumors that 5th or 20th SFG was recieving 6.8 ammo, but I have'nt heard what for. Either way, you know how rumors get around the world of ARs.
Thanks for the reply.

There can't be that much of a problem with the 6.8SPC otherwise Barrett would be chasing their tails?

True. I decided to go ahead and get a 5.56 and if the 6.8 comes around to being readily available, I might purchase a Barret upper. I tell you what, that Barret just screams sexiness. I wish blended ammo would become available to the civilian markets.

I would really like to see how well the muzzle brake works on the M468. The sexiness comes from the ARMS SIR. Eh, by the time the XCR comes out I should have enough extra cash to get one or the other.

If they are or not I don't know. I do know of some pretty unhappy customers that can't shoot there 6.8 builds because there is'nt any ammo to buy. As MEGR noted earlier the only civilians shooting right now are using hand loaded rounds. I'm sure there's a lucky few out there that have some 6.8 laying around waiting to be shot, but that's about it. Last I knew the 6.8 SPC has been a big disapointment to many, and Remington still did'nt have any definitive answers as to when the ammo could be made available.

Don't want to get too off topic, but SMGLee has had experience with 6.8 AR-15s. Also, AR15.com is a good source to see what's going on with the whole shindig.

The AR15 is the father of the M16, M16 is the military designation while AR15 is what it's named on the patent (this is all speculation and assumptions) the CAR15 would be Carabine AR15.

Colt has actually sued many companys for using M4 similar names on weapons they make in that design.

wiking

so its the same as for example enfiled producing the SA80 --> AR-15, and the military adopting it as the L85 --> m16?

and so would you call the m16a4 for example ab ar-15a4? or was the ar15 just the base model and after that became the m16?

Most of it's just guessing, but it's probably somewhat like that.
