Almost all armys in the world use K-9s (Dogs) to support diffrent opartions, so lets bring out some pics of mans best friend.
This is one of the soldiers in my platoon Charlie, at 47kg he is one mean mofo.

Great looking dog! Why do you have the attachment to catch spent casings? Is it to reuse them to reload for blanks etc or to protect the enviornment?

I read a story in the local papers back in the early 90's. I was in college.
The airport security (AVESECOM) in the international airport in Manila had these new sniffer dogs come in from the Netherlands. The problem is the dogs wouldn't do what the expert K9 handlers we had want them to do. The problem turned out to be that the dogs didn't understand the English commands. The dogs only spoke Dutch. rofl rofl rofl
Lost in translation.

i was watching Ripley's believe it or not or something with amazing videos and they showed police dogs in action against real criminals. it was amazing how fast german sheps can run, and it was funny watching in IR a person run and these two torpedo shaped thermal images quickly chase and jump on the guy.

Our seregant had a nice doggy in the MP platoon, imported from Germany puppy of some high class German shepperd service dog family  cost some €uros to import. The dog was rather young at the time i was there, but an awesome thing to watch, never seen a dog that obedient to hes master at that age, he had the commands in Finnish, English and German....to prevent the dog getting mixed up if somebody tries to shout out a command while hes owner issues one. We also had a display of it's powers, a volunteer dude in that padded safety suit "ok, now act threatening" ...... "errr....ok, (the guy ****ting himself)" then he unleashed the dawg and my god the force when it hit the dude bringing him down from hes arm and dragging hes 200 pounds on the ground untill commanded to let go, was a nice tool in the riot simulation aswell, u could get the crowd moving when u gave the dog a few meters of free leash, it's teeth showing and growling.....we had Pioneers as practise targets rofl poor guys....cool dog, all i can say

British soldier Simon Stupple patrols with his dog Denzil near the Iraqi port of Umm Qsar, southern Iraq Friday Sept. 26, 2003. Members the 168 Pioneer Regiment went on patrol through the docks to show a presence to any would-be thieves and looters.

Bonnie, a former British Army dog, with her adopted cheetah cubs. Mother to two baby cheetahs found orphaned in the wild. Their mother was killed trying to stop a lion stealing a Gerenuk antelope which she had caught. Local herdsmen rescued the cheetah cubs and radioed Lewa for assistance. The cubs were suffering from a severe nutritional deficiency, but have been nursed back to health, and are now looked after by Bonnie, who patiently allows them to play around her during the day, and guards them at night.

Some police and customs departments do this intentionally. This way the dog will only listen to the handler, as most other people will not speak German, Dutch, etc.

Chechnya, 2000/1, this guy is from OMON or some MVD sepcnaz unit.
The cap on the dog, is i think standard issue russian/soviet tankers cap, to protect the dog against hitting its head when inside BTR's and from the 'noise' of war i presume...
