View Full Version : ** Militaryvideos.net opened **
After having to rely on random torrent sites in even more random countries to share military related videos on here, I got off my butt and started up militaryvideos.net. I've put up the ones that have been sent or mentioned so far to get things going. If people have their own videos (non-commercial, logo'ed) that they want to get going on there, drop me a PM or email to get it going.

Extra..what does it mean that files without seeds would be deleted?
For those who don't know, bit torrent seeds are people who have the full file and have left their client open so that it can continue to share the file after it's been downloaded. If there aren't any seeds on a file that means that you wouldn't be able to download it anyway and therefore it won't be shown on the list. As soon as someone starts a seed up of it again though, it will automatically show up on the list again. It just saves some frustration if a server that I have seeds running on goes down for whatever reason.

I guess itīs good for the server because it doesnīt put so much stress on it, but for the user? Nah. Oh well, nice videos probably, but nothing I will install that crap on my computer for.
This is how it works for those that didnīt understand the explanation:

Crap? It's completely open source, has no spyware, no adware, and once you close the window, is totally closed and isn't doing anything on your computer unlike other P2P software. Bit Torrent is used by tons of companies now to legitimately distribute demos and videos including slashdot.org which has millions of tech saavy users.

wow, thanks Hood!
once i get back to my dorm i will download those files and help host the files. :)
Just like to say be aware of downloading bit torrent clients NOT from the site the admin listed. There are several spyware laced versions of BT, people are exploting, on the net. Just keep to the official site.
However I would recommend "ABC" instead. There is no spyware, and is easier on the computer. Ie; doesn't take up as many resources, and you can seed easier.

Thanks for your service too. I've been lurking here for some time, and I enjoy the pictures. +)

I <3 Hood.
ducimus19, try right clicking on the link and saving the torrent to the desktop. Then right click on that torrent file and hit 'open with' and select the bit torrent app. might help.

wow, that Mortar attack clip was very powerful. Add more please. great stuff Hood.
I lucked out because there were a bunch of clips that came out within the last month so I had a bunch to put up. Concerning putting new stuff up, I have to keep it heavily moderated so people don't post stuff from television which would get me in trouble. If you want to post a video that you made, send me a PM and I'll give you a place to FTP it to and I'll post it. Thanks.

that mortar attack film is really incredible. i wonder if they eventually got the guys who fired them.
the A64 and A130 films are also really incredible.
hood, do you remember the video of the kiowa scout helo observing a couple in a convertible?
i might host the video at my site if you would be willing to put the bittorrent up at militaryvideos.net
Sure, that site is down, so I can't grab it anymore, but if you want to make a torrent for it and seed it long enough for me to latch onto it, I'm game. Send me a PM if you're up for it.

hood, have you been able to get the bit torrent up?
Ok I got the Kiowa up and running but the A-10 one doesn't want to play. Is it supposed to be 2.7 megs?
Seoulstriker

the a-10 is 2.86 megs.
try downloading it again:

same thing, but i managed to get powerdvd to play it. although it's a neat clip (seen it before), I'm going to stick to videos that people made themselves for this site. that makes sure that there's no toes getting stepped on.
