I found these and Im sorry if theyre a repost, but my heart goes out to these and all soldiers who risk their life for the guy next to them in combat.

Shane, with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment (Regimental Combat Team 7), runs to a downed Marine to pull him to safety during combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq, on Nov. 9, the morning after Marines entered the city during Operation Al Fajr.

Shane, the company gunnery sergeant, tries to aid the wounded Marine, Sgt. Lonny D. Wells, 29, of Vandergrift, Pa. Wells, however, was fatally injured by an enemy bullet as the unit was crossing the first major intersection in the northern sector of Fallujah.

Shane (left) lies wounded in the street, not far from the Marine he was trying to save. Shane survived the ordeal.

Oh, there are the guys that got sniped?

PS: Does anyone have pics, or info relating to the SEAL Ambush (I think in Afghan...)? I haven't been here in weeks, jus somethin' I heard.

The SEAL ambush you're referring to...

A Chinook was shot down in A-stan. I think it was 3 crew, 8 SEALs, and 5 SF. One SF got on the wrong bird. I think those numbers are right - could be wrong.

Then, the recon team that was sent in, went out of contact from what I gather. Two were found KIA, two were found alive...I think. Again, I'm doing this from memory, I may have some of it wrong. but they did find everyone.

really? I thought the bird that was shot down was carrying regular troops but I may very well be confused

That was another incident, the more recent one...and they all made it out OK. Helo was destroyed after the fact.

Spanx for the info. Makes sense, Afghanis in particular are usually pretty deadly with RPGs
