A: they weren't civilians smart guy.
West, you are an idiot.
Thank you for your totally redundant and unnecessarily biased contribution to an otherwise fairly adult and objective forum.

Well, there most be many Westīs out there in the world then. I think that most normal people would be disgusted by watching this video. Itīs a normal reaction while seeing civilians being killed you know.
But of course, one of them had something "slightly larger than a rifle".

Yes and the other two were just minding their own business, and when the shooting started the other two didn't attempt to pull out weapons, they just ran away like normal civillians would do when gunfire erupts. Pull your head out of your ass.

I represent myself, and as an 'average American' I can look at that video and see that three guys in a field at night pre-positioning long 'tube like' objects are not out checking the crops.
Keep playing dumb, it livens things up around here.

The case has been discussed on this thread. Including whether one or more of the individuals were non-combatants.

C'mon Mustamoto, you gotta admit that wests subject line was askin for peeps to respond, he made a direct STATEMENT that civilians were killed by the Apache. The evidence is of course incomplete as we all know from previous discussion but the circumstances as we understand with the little information we have is that they were believed to be insurgents by the Helo crew. They had probable cause to fire and they went thru chain of command.
I am not American but it annoys me to see so many peeps make disparaging comments simply cuz they dont like the U.S.
There is nothing in the entire video, watched as a whole, that suggests that the aircrews take on the situation was incorrect, and they WERE there, we WERENT..

Wrong. Check your subject line. When you make a totally inaccurate and subjective statement in your subject line that is clearly designed to be inflamitory, you are opening yourself up to attack. This is how things work. Much like being an ENEMY COMBATANT in Iraq will get you killed, whether you are hiding RPGs, retreiving RPGs, or just hanging out with guys who are. You can act surprised if you want, but it won't change the outcome. I suppose by your standard I am "really very dirty," in that I will call you on this BS thread. I am sure by your standard I am a dirty person indeed, seeing as I understand that war is not nice and sometimes people get hurt, and somebody has to do the hurting. I wish I lived in fantasy land where some of you guys seem to live, where anybody who kills the enemy is a war-criminal. Gimme a f@cking break.

Everytime someone capture on video of us blowing one of them away, everybody is crying foul. Who's crying for our guys who are getting killed
by these "civilian by day and insurgent by night"?

West can always point to the PRC's stellar human rights record...using bayonets and APC's on its own students, selling convicts organs etc. Way to go China..see you at the Olympics - dog on a stick anyone? by the way I'm of Chinese ancestry so don't throw the race card...Like Chairman Mao said - POWER GROWS FROM THE BARREL OF A GUN!

No , they did not "run away like normal civilians" you moron. They ran away like normal terrorists caught with thier pants down while they thought they were safe from attack and were organized for thier evil purposes.. I heard about this video. These guys were bad dudes who had been tracked for awhile. All you see is the attack. What you dont see is all the intel work and stalking that went into that Apache ambush. Funny, I guess a "real soldier" or a "non innocent" wouldnt try to run and hide under a truck when ambushed by such firepower as the 30mm chain gun on the Apache? What are you people idiots? Do only civilians run for the best and nearest possible cover or are soldiers and terrorists too stupid to do that? Clearly, these F'ing scum were caught thinking they were safe. Dont you see: that is the terrorist tactics. They run around in open with no weapons and if caught, they and like minded terrorist supporting villagers, claim to be "innocent goatherders" or "just on my way to the sons wedding" and such. That is the whole element of strategy for insurgency. Of course they are going to pose a civilians so even when killed they score a victory for the propaganda machine. Anybody out there who thinks American troops dont do thier 100% best as a matter of policy to avoid innocent deaths is a FOOL. Of course there are individuals out there who are trigger happy. We have an Army of hundreds of thousands. not everyone is gonna be perfect but IT IS THE POLICY AND US TROOPS ARE TRAINED TO AVOID KILLING CIVILIANS. WE ARE A VERY DIFFERENT ARMY FROM VIETNAM SO GET OVER IT!!! This pisses me off more than anything else. A**holes out there trying to undremine the superb efforts our brave young (yes 18 years old in alot of cases) are doing to help Iraq. In my mind you guys are the enemy and are helping, in your own little way, to kill good US kids trying to make a difference in the world instead of sitting on thier asses and doing NOTHING while people like you are judging everyone else out there who are men of action. Let me tell you: YOU little panzies could never and will never be free without others who are willing to do the fighting and suffering for your miserable asses!! And throughout history, its been the US G.I. saving the worlds asses and freeing the oppressed and then getting shafted up the ass for it later by ungrateful little bitches!!! GRRRRRRRRR

A couple of months ago Time ran a piece on Insurgents in Iraq. The reporter was given privvy to a rocket attack on an American base after dark in a field. In that report they mentioned fearing an overhead AC130, but after retreating to ditches on the sides of the road, the plane flew over, and the rocket attack went off without a hitch.
It's hard to tell from another edited, 15 second clip (re: Execution of an Iraqi) but I would assume the Apache pilot had his eye on that group for some time before firing. (Most likely the surveillance we don't see in the short clip) Chances are they were preparing some sort of rocket and/or mortar attack after dark, and got caught out.

In the long clip you see them throw the launcher( or what they believe to be a launcher) into the field a little to the left and in front of where the tractor stops... in this short vid you see the one of the two first guys start to grab what appears to be a cylinder from a wrapped tarp...interesting that people think these three are innocent even tho after the first guy gets wasted the second guy is still tryin to get whatever it is ;) out of the blanket quickly.
Full clip is on militaryvideos.net. Concerning this thread, this is the 3rd one I've locked today because people don't just continue the one that was already going. Post any replies in the thread below.
