Ukrainians- a question...

Hi all,

I just came back from a trip to Ukrain and I have a serious question.

Pampushki - how do you make them look square?

All the recipes I found are talking about making small balls of dough - but all the pampushki's I got were square!

Thank you all very much, I really want to make some borscht & pampushki, with the original look ;)

depends on the shape of the pan, and the skill of the baker.

There are no shaped pans in the recipe, just boiling oil in a pot.
