Just speaking hypothetically... how many people could one of these ships actually kill, if it was to attack a large modern city such as New York, Los Angles, London, Tokyo etc. going for maximum destruction and/or casualties on the ground, and keeping up the attack until the supplies of aircraft fuel or ordnance were expended (whichever is first)? Assume that the carrier is fully loaded when it commences the attack. Also assume that it is not carrying nuclear weapons.

It depends on your target. Obviously downtown Bejing is going to get you a lot more kills per boom than out in the middle of the desert. So the answer is "a lot" but I can't imagine a scenario short of the Cold War version of WWIII that they'd be trying to do that.

Actually technically speaking a Carrier itself can not kill anyone in an offensive operation.

It's just a airbase on water so to speak. The Carrier itself has no offensive weapons AFAIK.

A Nimitiz class aircraft carrier has an airwing which includes 20 F-14D’s and 36 F/A-18’s. (http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/nimitz/)

The F-14D has a bomb load of 8000 pounds and the F/A-18 has a bomb load of 4000 pounds. (http://www.flightjournal.com/articles/su27/su27_6.asp)

Therefore, in an all out attack, an airwing from a Nimitiz class carrier could deliver 304,000 pounds of high explosives.

That would equate to 304 1000 pound Mk 83 bombs.

In terms of damage…

Keep in mind most modern battle carriers (super-carriers) of today carry nuclear ordinance. Along with standard munitions, needless to say a single carrier wild's tremendous power projection. Especially considering one of these boats and its carrier battle group can roll up to any shore, ANY WHERE in the world with in 72 hours. As far as kill yield, It depends on target & population density. Hypothetically, if the gloves really came off the death toll could be in the hundreds of thousands.
