i think in the future the sopmod will look more like this.

some of the parts may be exchanged for others but i think parts like flip up front sights and FF rail tubes will find their way into sopmod eventually.

Rob,
that is just KAC's spin on their URX kit.
The current SOPMOD 2 winners are EOTech for the COO, KAC for the Suppressor and I am not sure who got what for the rest of the equipment.
The rail system will definitely be a free float version.
no requirement for flip up front sight, lots of operator use the front sight like a ghost ring if the electronic optic fails.
I have a little KAC poster on the SOPMOD 2 courtesy of the VP of military sales at KAC...I will post later.

i know it is just manufacturer marketing, i said that many parts robly will be exchanged for others, but i believe it is more like what we will see in the future because it has a FF tube, and what not. and you have confirmed this. i guess i was wrong in my prediction of a flip up fron t sight being adopted but in my mind it is a advantage.

no you are not wrong, it can be an advantage... but limited to users with magnified optics...besides, today's red dot are so robust you are hard pressed to find the unit faling you. but then again, in combat, mr. Murphy will visit you in the most unopportune time.
on my MRP, I keep my Troy flip up front sight in the up position... it just works for me better that way.
There is no right or wrong, only what works for you....

A little off topic, but what do you think of the surefire suppressor vs teh KAC one.

Surefire is the latest and the greatest....zero shift, at worst 1 MOA plus or minus.. killer construction without too much ill effect in full auto. very nice QD system.. and light weight.

This is the original prototype.
Here is KAC's taken on the SOPMOD Block 1. Block one is near its end... Block is right around the corner...

Actual 30mm ring for COO is made by Precision Reflex...
The two stage trigger is used on the famed SPR...
It was forgotten on the poster... the PEQ2 mount is also made by KAC.

That's awesome, really nicely done. The only thing I noticed was that its an M203A1, as this was the designation applied to the 9" barreled model.
