View Full Version : Scion xB

I just got home from the store and there was a Scion xB in the parking lot. I have seen some ugly cars before, but this is absolutely the biggest eyesore on the road. No offense to those who own one of course, but come on. There is one around town that is lowered and is painted bright pink and green and bright blue flame graphics. I'm not a big fan of flame graphics anyway, but it looks like sh*t on this car. Just my 2 cents.

That has got to be one of the ugliest cars ever made. Who would buy one??
Are they dirt cheap or something?
Also, didn`t they do one up on "Pimp my Ride"?

I understand the concept behind Scion. They are targeting a younger generation (obviously). They aren't priced too high and come w/ a bunch of personal options. That being said, they are still ugly!!!

I am not a fan of that design at all. Reminds me of the Honda Element.

Yea they are pretty damn ugly. I refer to them as cube-mobiles.
The only redeeming value they have had so far to me is one I saw with a bumper sticker the other day. It said, "When I grow up I want to be a Hummer." I laughed for a little bit.

They're all ugly. There's the stupid Mercedes version, the stupid Land Rover version, stupid Volkswagon version, not to mention the Scion xA is an ugly piece of crap as well. Everyone around here says the design of these cars originate in Europe, so damn your Euros (just kidding of course)!
And then there's that Scion commercial with fools rambling on about how the xB represents them and their style. Seeing that commercial makes me want to punch out the TV due to the actors' praise about how wonderful the car is.
However, the Scion xC isn't too bad looking.

This piece of crap was runner up in car of they year thingy here in Holland in 2000 :cantbeli:
I never figured out how they calculate such contests, cuz it is hidious
Well Europe has the Multipla and the US the Ford F150 lightning
saw it on Top Gear yesterday evening
Ford F150 lightning
So, what IS the world's best selling car? Well, the title gives the game away a bit, but still, we think you will agree, it's a bit of a surprise to find out that it's a car you may well never have heard of. But it's also a surprise that the world's favourite car is a Ford. And that it's a pick-up truck.
But what is truly the biggest surprise of all, is that the world's best-selling car is pretty hopeless. Although we do accept that the F150 isn't really made for the UK it's also suffering from a rather large dose of "American build quality". So, basically, the inside looks like it's fashioned out of old melted boots, and none of the trim fits properly.
The 380bhp engine is the same as the one you get in the Ford GT. Which means it can propel you to 60mph in 5.8 seconds. Which, let's face it, is remarkable. What is slightly worrying is that for a car with that much power, it seems a little badly made. So, it's entirely possible that while you are whooping and hollering about how fast your truck can go, you won't have noticed that the steering wheel has come off in your hands and that you are, in fact, heading for a ravine.
I'll try to find the clip on the net..

well no clip avail (yet) but found a forum where they're discussing it

I saw that. The best bit...
"The worst car i'd ever driven was a 30 year old russian Jeep. Now I mean was..."
Did you see him driving along in a straight line whilst moving the steering wheel side to side!
And..."Brakes made from bottletops"
Didn't someone on here buy one of these?

It's a Honda, they are always good cars. The element may not be to everyones taste, but for what it is, it's one of the best.
The Top gear guys know their stuff.

my friend sells scions for a living. it's a pretty tough job trying to convince people to buy them. he's thinking on moving to toyotas now. but then he'd have to compete with 40 other salesmen at his dealership.

I think it looks fine - it's a nice change from the melted jellybean look that's everywhere else. But what do I know - I drive a '91 Isuzu Trooper, which makes the xB look positively curvy. All that boxyness provides a ton of inside room. Function over form, as they say.
I've seen a couple of xB's that have been tricked out a bit with bigger tires etc. - it's amazing what minor changes can do to a car's looks (sort of like how a typical "grandma" Crown Vic looks lame, but the Cop version gives me car wood).
Just sayin'

I saw a gay guy at the airport driving one of those. It was red with Chevy logo and the American flag (wavy-looking) painted on the side. He had the top down.
He was parked in the arriving flights area, where there is a ten minute timer above where you park. Once the first ten minutes were up, he pulled forward and backed in again to reset the timer...

So both. p-)
Can't say i've driven the standard Focus. I got to drive one when it first came out, I can't remember what engine it had but it was very bland to drive. Suppose it depends on the car though. My car is a 1.4 but it's pretty quick compared to bigger engined, newer cars. It'll go over 100 easily. (Not that I do ;) ) .
If you want a car for performance you definately want to start st a 2 litre engine. One of the best performance cars you can get uses a 2 litre Honda civic type-R engine.
Macs.

I bet that Scorpion XP has a low maximum speed, so it sucks for me. (And not starting to talk about the looks...)
I like "big" cars/trucks and I would buy one if they wouldn't be so damn slow.

Okay, the first time you started repping for your Scion I was thinking, "Alright, this guy is comfortable with what he drives, nothing wrong with that." Now you are just being cocky about owning a cube-mobile, and that's funny.
