Personally i think the slings work better if you put the rear end around the narrow section of the stock.. gives it a bit more balance.
Other thing i've seen people do is loop both ends onto the rear sling swivel and forget the front one all together.
That sling looks way shiny to me. p-)

That may work on a F88 mate, but it isn't anygood for the Minimi/M249. It's to heavy for that setup. Plus theres no balance

Here's a 3-point sling from Ranger Joes:

That may be, but i've still seen it done p-)
I think its in the urban ops pam actually. :)
Oh yeah the pams are never wrong :D
Lets be realistic. Can you do it? Yes
How long would you last with it? 30mins of patrolling max

Thanks for the replies! But I'm not looking for a 3 point sling, just a single one.
Does anybody has experience with one of those?

yeah pams - the guide to every RI that is tossed out every corps window in batts. :)
Why do you want a different sling to the one that is issued? You should only be using it for work party related tasks. Other than that the sling should be off when patrolling. Its not that heavy. Even when carry the 200rd soft mag.

Blackhawk industries has a nice one, but a weird one, the chalker sling http://www.blackhawk.com/product_detail.asp?product_id=1954&d= I don't know if it's ok for an m249 but there was a pic in their catalog with a m249 mounted on it.
