Besides, they're just rifles, ordinary civillians can get them easily in the US, you think the Chinese gov't has any difficulty aquiring them?

I went to the place myself, though unless you are on a company/organizational trip (or something like that) you'll only be able to shoot some hunting and targeting rifles and pistols. For some reason they won't let you pick up the bullet casings, and the guns there aren't too reliable (I had a pistol jammed when I was shooting there) :roll:

They're rifles with grenade launchers, fully automatic weaponry, RPGs, and more, and if you think that its "easy" to get them in the US then you've fallen prey to an common misconception. Yes, perhaps easier to get a hold of then not being able to get a hold of them at all, but not without a lot of red tape, proper licenses and tax stamps (state dependant), and a whole lot of money.

Aaaawww... All of the rifles on the range are locked in by their barrels to the table - I imagine that takes quite a bit out of fun of handling the weapons... I'm personally, not a big fan of shooting off the bench in a bipod position p-)

So whats the status of civilian gun ownership in China? I'm guessing its virtually non-existent.

IIRC gun ownership for private citizens is almost nil.
I've been to that range before, interesting stuff - captialism at it's best. You want to shoot? Pay money. Preferably in US dollars. You cold fire mortars back in the day but I am not too sure that's the case now due to noise control. I was a only a kid back then so they let me fire the surppressed submachine gun in pic 7. Worked fine, but if you notice on the range bench thyy have these barrel clamps on the rifles to prevent them from moving around too much. Supposedly, someone once lost control of their rifle and shot someone by accident...
