Who here saw "Inside Special Forces" that was aired on Thirteen some time ago? I recorded it. One thing I don't get, in SF pictures, operators have their faces blurred out, but they show a documentry on national TV with active SF operators without blurring their faces out.

Since it was a documentary, where the cameraman was in constant contact with the SF guys they probably said it was ok to be taped. SF guys don't wear signs around their necks that say "If you take a picture, I'm cool if you show my face" so when there are pictures its better to be safe than sorry and blur the face.

Didn't Deuterium cover this in the origingal topic on this program? I recall him saying something about certain OD-A's being pegged as the PR OD-A's (bad description, I know) that are allowed to have media tagging along and exposing identity, faces, etc, etc.

You're 19th SFG right?
The documentry I seen with the 19th guys, some had blurred faces whilst others didn't,some seemed not too bothered about their faces being exposed,I'm just wondering if the guys who were "shy" were more of the full time cadre?........they seemed to be more aware of PERSEC,than the other guys such as the team leader!

You're a real funny guy TF eh?
You really think you know it all, don't you, just another smart mouthed kid, who'll soon have his cards marked.
For your info,at least that "kid" as was found out later was from a PsyOps unit attached to that team, had the balls to be there, unlike you who's a mere "cadet" who still has to have his arse wiped from the DS.
I feel sorry for you,and your likes as you all seem to have delousions of grandeur about being some Spec Ops wannabe's,as I'm afarid that's all you are, until the time comes for you to pass through SFAS/SFQC and enter a team room, then you are "nothing" more than kids trying to be men!

Did anyone who saw the program noticed when there was a formation, one company was formed completely out of red berets, with an SF guy at the front, I guess being their commander. It is pretty interesting, I guess that company was the combat controllers, but I didn't know that they are actually stationed with the Groups. Any info?
I just finished reading Inside Delta Force. Fantastic book, I recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about the 1st Special Operational Detatchment-Delta.
I bought a great book about internation special forces... check it out...

Yes a very good read, especially the part where he shot a guy in South America, only to discover he was a Green Beret, the mission was ordered by the CIA,and wanted the group of insurgents taken out.
The Green Beret's name was keke Sainz..........anyone care to shed some more light on this one?
I guess this was during the time when the CIA were doing their utmost to destabalise Central America back in the late 80's!

Non SF qualified support personnel (O or enlisted) assigned to an SFG wear maroon (not red) berets. Every SFG has support personnel.

I think you took the comments the wrong way. If you'd remember, there were a few people who thought that there was actually a 17 or 18 year old Special Forces member. As for being a 'cadet' and 'wannabe', I guess we may as well have never had the 500,000 soldiers who used to be cadets, since 1916. And not to mention 75% of the officer corps is from ROTC. The other 25% from the academies or OCS.

Correct,
Can't answer that since that video was done before our rotation in A-stan. However during our rotation, the media was there and took pictures of my team and did conduct several interviews to include me. I remember seeing some guys on my ODA on the "USA Today" Video and pics were fine as long as last name and ODA number was ommited. Don't forget, all SF guys get a extensive PAO brief on what's allowed and what's not within OPSEC/PERSEC.
