A weekly update on terrorist activity from http://www.intelcenter.com - Have these been posted in the past (and does anyone want to see them posted in the future)?

PHYSICAL - WATCH BOARD

- Marked increase in al-Qaeda video material focused on Afghanistan may
indicate increased operational activity and greater threat of more
frequent and/or sophisticated attacks in the near future.

- al-Qaeda release of new video "The War of the Oppressed People"

- Release of new Ayman al-Zawahiri video on al-Jazeera on 4 Aug,
threatens more attacks in London & US

- al-Zawahiri: Those who collaborated with America in Iraq and
Afghanistan will, God willing, bear the consequences of this
collaboration soon.

- UK FCO on Iraq: "There are credible reports that terrorists are in
the final stages of planning attacks"

- US Embassy in Saudi Arabia on 20 Jul.: "The American Embassy in
Riyadh advises all American citizens living in Saudi Arabia that it has
received indications of operational planning for a terrorist attack or
attacks in the Kingdom."

- US Embassy in Saudi Arabia on 25 Jul.: "The American Embassy in
Riyadh advises all American citizens living in Saudi Arabia that, in
response to continued indications of operational planning for a
terrorist attack or attacks in the Kingdom, U.S. military personnel
stationed in Saudi Arabia have been instructed to suspend all non-duty
related leisure travel outside of their work or housing stations."

- Attacks on London Underground and bus, possible follow-on attacks

- Attacks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt and possible follow-on attacks

- Continued targeting of Arab diplomatic personnel in Iraq

- Concern over possible efforts by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to conduct ops
in US and elsewhere around the world

- Growing sophistication of jihadi training activities in Iraq

- Growing sophistication of IED design & tactics in Iraq

- Concern over the possible movement of seasoned jihadi operational
planners out of Iraq and into other countries to conduct attacks

- Ongoing threat of shooting/kidnapping attacks targeting Westerners in
Saudi Arabia


LATEST BOMBINGS SUMMARY (from the "Latest Bombings" section on

- On 6 Aug., a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device near a US military convoy on a main road in the
al-Jadidah area of eastern Baghdad, Iraq. Three Iraqi civilians were
injured.

- On 6 Aug., an explosive device targeting a convoy belonging to the
British Consulate detonated in Basra, Iraq. Two security guards were
killed.

- On 6 Aug., an explosive device detonated on the side of a road in
Basra City, Iraq as a British military convoy consisting of three
armored vehicles passed by. One of the vehicles was damaged and one
British soldier was injured.

- According to a 6 Aug. report, a suicide bomber detonated a
vehicle-borne improvised explosive device inside a main US checkpoint
on Rawah Bridge in western Iraq. Following the bombing, Katyusha
rockets and mortar shells were fired at US military targets in the city
prompting clashes between gunmen and US forces in the Industrial Zone.

- On 5 Aug., an explosive device detonated on the highway between
al-Iskandariyah and al-Musayyib, south of Baghdad, Iraq. Three Iraqis
were killed and four others were injured.

- At 0015 local time on 4 Aug., an explosive device detonated on the
Cigdem Street in Pendik's Bati quarter of Istanbul, Turkey. Eda Muslu
and her mother Hatice Muslu, who were in a car driven by Can Muslu
during the explosion, were killed. Four people were injured.

- On 4 Aug., an explosive device detonated at Chingus, in Rajaori,
India. An Indian Army major was killed.

- On 4 Aug., a remote-controlled explosive device detonated in the
Urozgan province, Afghanistan as a police convoy traveling from the
Charchina area to Tarin Kot passed by. Two police officers were killed
and a vehicle was destroyed. Taliban spokesman, Mofti Latifollah Hakimi
claimed responsibility for the bombing saying, "Our mujahideen attacked
a security forces' convoy in Urozgan province as a result of which four
policemen, not two, were killed."

- On 4 Aug., an improvised explosive device detonated near a US
military vehicle in the midst of combat operations near Gardez,
Afghanistan. Gunnery Sgt. Theodore Clark Jr., 31 from the 1st Combat
Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force
was killed.

- According to a 4 Aug. report, an explosive device detonated in
al-Fallujah, Iraq. A US soldier was injured and a US military Hummer
was damaged.

- According to a 4 Aug. report, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive
device detonated among a column of vehicles between Tal Afar and
Kirkuk, Iraq. Four civilians were killed and another three were
injured.

- On 4 Aug., an explosive device detonated near the motorcade of Col.
Shakir Hakim, the Kirkuk Police chief in Iraq. One of Hakim's guards
was injured.

- On 3 Aug., a remote-controlled explosive device detonated on the
Ghulam Khan Road in Afghanistan. One person was killed as he was trying
to plant the device.

- On 3 Aug., a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near
a US military armored personnel carrier in Baghdad, Iraq. Spc. Jerry L.
Ganey Jr., 29, Spc. Mathew V. Gibbs, 21, and Sgt. 1st Class Charles H.
Warren, 36, from the Army National Guard's 648th Engineer Battalion,
48th Infantry Brigade were killed.

- On 3 Aug., an improvised explosive device detonated near a US
military amphibious assault vehicle during combat operations south of
Haditha, Iraq. Lance Cpl. Christopher J. Dyer, 19, Cpl. David Kenneth
J. Kreuter, 26, Lance Cpl. Timothy M. Bell Jr., 22, Lance Cpl. Eric J.
Bernholtz, 23, Sgt. Justin F. Hoffman, 27, Lance Cpl. Michael J.
Cifuentes, 25, Lance Cpl. Aaron H. Reed, 21, Lance Cpl. Edward A.
Schroeder II, 23, and Lance Cpl. William B. Wightman, 22, from the
Marine Forces Reserve's 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine
Division, Lance Cpl. Nicholas William B. Bloem, 20, and Lance Cpl.
Grant B. Fraser, 22, from the Marine Forces Reserve's 4th
Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Sgt. Bradley J. Harper,
25 and Lance Cpl. Kevin G. Waruinge, 22, from the Marine Forces
Reserve's 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division and Cpl.
David S. Stewart, 24, from the Marine Forces Reserve's 4th Assault
Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division were killed. As part of
Operation Iraqi Freedom, they all were attached to Regimental Combat
Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

- According to a 2 Aug. report, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive
device targeting a US military patrol detonated at the entrance of the
tunnel of al-Tayaran Square in Baghdad, Iraq. Four civilians were
killed and 25 Iraqis as well as several US military personnel were
injured and several vehicles were destroyed. Qaeda al-Jihad
Organization in the Land of Two Rivers released an unverified video
claiming responsibility for the bombing.

- On 2 Aug., several male individuals walked into al-Sadim Bookshop on
al-Mutannabi Street in central Baghdad, Iraq pretending to be looking
for books. Eyewitnesses say the suspects left a suitcase near the
bookshop's door as they were leaving and the suitcase detonated.

- During the morning of 2 Aug., a vehicle-borne improvised explosive
detonated near Ba'qubah General Hospital, 60km northeast of Baghdad,
Iraq. One Iraqi civilian was killed and five others were injured.

- On 1 Aug., two explosive devices detonated in Antayla, Turkey. The
first occurred in a trashcan near Kalekapisi Clock Tower district.
Three people were injured. The second occurred a few minutes later in a
trashcan in Dogu Garaji Baharatcilar Bazaar. One tourist and two Turks
were injured.

- On 1 Aug., a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised
explosive device while US military forces were conducting combat
operations near Hit, Iraq. Sgt. James R. Graham III, 25 from Marine
Reserve's 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division was killed.

- On 31 Jul., an explosive device detonated at the source of the Bangla
Dibharna drinking water project in Argakhanchi, Nepal. Maoists planted
the device. The device was planted under a large pipe, which had been
cut. At least six people were injured.

- On 30 Jul., three explosive devices detonated in the main bazaar of
the district of Kohlu, Baluchistan in Pakistan.

- On 30 Jul., two explosive devices detonated in Jacobabad city of the
Upper Sind frontier district in Pakistan.
