BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An explosion early Sunday outside Coalition headquarters in Baghdad wounded several people.
CNN staff said the blast shook their hotel in downtown Baghdad at 8 a.m. (midnight ET).
CNN's Michael Holmes described it as "a very, very large explosion."
The cause of the of the blast is not clear.
Video showed at least three cars on fire, and several civilians lying on the ground and bloodied.
U.S. troops and tanks were on the scene and gunshots could be heard in the background.
The blast happened near "Assassin's Gate," the entrance to a former presidential palace of Saddam Hussein, now used by the Coalition Provisional Authority as its headquarters.
