That's actually a good way to train some medics . Instead of prettenging that infront of you lies guy without a leg , when this same guy is all ok laughing , and prettend he is in pains - so no one is taking serios the exersize (crap , i don't remember half of the first aid i have been taught ) .Very good fake injuries .

Similar paramedic training was taken place in Poland. The special squads from Border Guard, Police and Polish Army had been trained in southern Poland by instructor from Israeli Army, chief of IDF medical surgery.
The Polish security forces trained medical support for wounded people afer the terrorist attack.

I'm just trying to figure out how they did it. I take it the guy really doesn't have a foot anyway.

Itīs like this man that had a camera with him all the time (visible on his shirt), he took pictures of everything. He stepped on a russian mine and lost a log during a patrol, each man had a leather strap with them all the time in case this happened, which was quite a usual injury for the soldiers. And yep, there is pictures of that as well. He "wrote" a book with the pictures in it after the war.

Craziness. I saw a documentary on the 10th mtn division and they had a casualty evac exercise and all the guys pretending to be casualties were done up like they were in a hollywood movie then they all were acting and screaming and joking off it proves very effective.
I read another article that talked about mans inborn resistance to killing and how the military reduced their soldiers hesitations by making the targets on the ranges actually look like real people.
its the little things that count i guess. p-)
