A question about the Canadian Military

Now, I am not too up on Canadian politics, but from this board it would seem as if the last PM really funked you guys up in funding and all. Do you see the Canadian Military becoming something like the direction in which the Brits are going where they incapable of carrying out a operation without US or a larger NATO force as the main force? Will interdiction, SOF and Peacekeeping be all that is left of the CF?

Our last several governments have "funked us up" and I don't see us ever being able to fight a war without US or UK support. A major factor here is that we are unlikely to fight anywhere that does not require Air or Sea movement.

We can't lift our own troops to battle, that should be enough...

we don't even got enough planes for paratroopers for field exercises, we use civilian aircraft now, now THAT really ticked me off. almost all of my jumps are with a civilian aircraft.
we're buying tanks that are notorious for blowing up/flipping over/just about everything you don't want a tank to do. sure the theory is awesome on paper, but being pratical? hell no.
we've got pistols in the system that are still from 1945.
that's all I'll say, but somehow we always make us canadians look good on the battlefield.

The LAV III MGS is not a tank. We are not buying tanks. We will lose that capability.

First of all how do you figure the Brits can't carry out operations without the US? They have Globemasters and Longbows and all the necessary modern weapons. And they have 109 000 troops in the regular force. Canada only has 11 300.
