Ok, Sweden, or more correctly, its government bent over for mr A. Hitler, thus keeping Sweden out of the big second. So, hereby I have confessed to many of the sins my beloved country can be blamed for. It can certainly be blamed for more evil doings. But for anyting any of you blame our country for, I can blame you back. This "you bent over for hitler" as some of you americans like to throw in our shameful faces, well, hadn´t the japanese been stupid enough to attack Pearl Harbour.... For that we, and a large part of europe is guilty the japs a big thankyou. Well, I wasn´t going to throw mud in anyones face, I hope you got my point, no country is innocent.

Now, what do I want to say with this post?
Well, I want to give you a little personal insight of my view of the "art war" that´s presently between Sweden and Israel, and propably the reason why Javehn wants to go to war against this small country (roughly the size of california) with approximately 9 million inhabitants.

Whatever you can say about the "piece of art" that the israeli ambassador tried to trash, sweden has something called "freedom of speech". This fredom is the same kind of freedom that US soldiers die for in Afghanistan and Iraq. When Israel says "remove that piece of sh*t because it offends us" they are infact saying "we want to decide what your citizens have the right to say or not". Well, now imagine a swedish diplomat saying something like that to President Bush "Hi there, we don´t like that article that the NY Times wrote about swedish ****, remove it, or else.." Well, when mr President had stopped laughing he would start formulating a rather harsh reply, wouldn´t he? Dictators have recieved tomahawks for breakfast for less..
And then Israel goes one step further by saying that all swedes are a bunch of antisemites/nazis, especially since we didn´t fight Hitler (who at the time had the worlds most powerful and modern army) with our 25 obsolete tanks we had at that time, and our 20 or so biplanes.

Now, how would YOU feel if I called YOU a nazi?

Now comes the ironic parts of the whole story:
The artist who made the piece is in fact an Israeli ex paratrooper who just happened to have seen too much war, and made something that was his idea of saying "that´s enough". Well, any paratroopers in here? Are paratroopers likely to receive the nobel price in litterature? Are paratroopers known to be great knowers of art? Well, most paras like outdoor activities, falling out of aeroplanes and stuff that says bang.. So this might explain the poor quality of the "artwork".

Now, what´s the fairness in Israel attacking sweden over something an israeli did? He did just exercise his right to free speech in sweden. It could have been in the states just as well, or in Israel, for all I know Israel is also a democracy.

Well, if you still want so invade sweden.. do you israelis train a lot of combat in dense forrests? If not, start practising.

They use both 7.62 and 5.56 versions of the Sako (ak clone) and they are changing their BDU to a pattern that is simillar to youre MARPAT cammo ... and the old Russian Iron Caskets are used widely across the world mainly because they are cheap and easily maintained .... However they are as alot of modern armies today upgrading their armour .. CV9030 , LEO2 , Patria AMV etc ....

We do use the T72's , however they are being phased out due to our quite recent acquisitions of the Leopard 2A4 MBT's.

The T72 will never be used in a pure offensive role in case of a conflict here, instead those things are meant to be defensive, ambushing elements in case of a conflict.

The T72's that we use are not capable of an all-out offensive with their armor and weapons against the Russians for an example, so the best way to make them usable is to just keep them in ambushing and defensive roles.

Either way, in case of a conflict we'd be fighting a guerilla-war just like we did in the winter war. There'd be no massive tank assaults, no fancy land warrior-programs, instead you'd be in the "Finnish bush" (read: forest) with an RK in hand and a couple of enemies in sight.

Well, "batch" and Ax isn´t exactly the same thing, but close enough for my "need" :D

Well, I show you my 120 122´s (which incidently is four "top of the line" MBT's less than you) and raise with my 160 Strv 121 (A4's)..
So, a finnish invasion isn´t going to be successful if empasised on armour.

Now, Javehn, if you´re still with us, what kind of capability does Israel have to put against sweden. First, how, hypothetically would you do it.. You would propably have to find an ally so that you can stage oyur assault from a bordering territory.. Team up with the finns maybe? We´ve occupied finland in the past, maybe they are keen on a return match.. Or will you be so bold that you do a massive amphibious assault coupled with paratroopers on key locations (for example airfields).
What kind of military power can you afford to use. Must be a tricky balance, since you´ll have to leave some behind, otherwise Tel-Aviv will fly the syrian flag before you know it.

However, speaking of a fictional "Finland vs. Sweden" battle I can only recommend you people a book called "Operaatio Finlandia" (Operation Finlandia) by the Finnish writer Arto Paasilinna.

The book tells about a fictional war between Finland and Sweden with nukes and the Soviet involvement and it all happens in the 1970's.

Too bad that they haven't translated it to Swedish or English, sure would be worth the effort.
