Football Player Critically Burned in College Stunt
An Albright College football player is in critical condition today after he set himself on fire as part of a college stunt.
Nineteen-year-old Alec Serowatka was critically burned Thursday when he doused himself with a flammable liquid during a morale boosting party for the football team.
He told authorities he intended to set fire to his arm and then douse the flames -- as part of a stunt -- but then accidentally set his pants on fire.
Dozens of his teammates who were cheering him, on witnessed the accident. They took him to Reading Hospital.
Authorities then flew him to the Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown. He has second-and-third degree burns on the lower third of his body.
