Why even take a risk with suspected IEDs, just shoot something at it?

Good tool and I'm glad no one was hurt...but EOD exists for a reason. IED's are not an Engineer mission. Anyone can poke and prod or drop a block of 'C', but by not properly ID'ing the ordnance at hand all you're asking for is trouble; i.e. killing yourself and anyone elase in the blast frag zone or popping chem rounds and spreading it in the area for the patrol/convoy to pass through. Also, by not retreiving the initiating system and various components for exploitation they're making things harder for everyone in country. If Engineers or anyone else for that matter are going to try to play EOD, they better atleast get their **** wired for sound.
