Cool woot woot Since when has your military used these comics?

We have this SoldF book here, "Soldier in the field", itīs simply a book for
the new conscripts, so that they in a "easy way to remember"-way learns
basic stuff. And I think these drawn pictures are also better because itīs
easier to imagine that you are there, than is the case with photos. But
anyway they have been used since the 50īs I think, these SoldF books
are modernized all the time, the latest one is from 2001, but usually
itīs the same pics, but only with new uniforms and weapons.

Ye, but every army allows soldiers to smoke. Sure its bad for health, but when you are in a freaking warzone, I dont think the fact that you can get cancer, will be your concern.

edit: Smoking

Youre allowed to smoke in the swedish army. the pics you saw was from a winter warfare survival book. It said during cold condition its not good to smoke and catastrofical to drink alcohol due to survival reasons.

MolliG Yep that's a BILL

Swedish soldiers are allowed to smoke as much as they want, except indoors or nearby explosives and such things. But it is wise not to smoke when it's cold outside, I think it has somthing to do with the bloodvessels getting thinner and you get cold quicker. I could be wrong.

And as for the smoking. Well no itīs not illegal or anything. However you
of course need your commanders approval to smoke each time. Itīs not
very suitable to have 5 guys smoking in the middle of the night while
being in a ambush just because they "needed to smoke". The military
peace time training is thus ideal for people to stop smoking. In war I
wouldnīt want to have a smoking soldier behing my back that didnīt get
his 10 daily cigarettes... for a couple of days. He would probably be a bit
tensed. Especially (as the guy that posted before me says), you also get
cold faster. Freezing = not a very good soldier.

Not to get offtopic, but nicotine slows down your pulse, sort of like alcohol, thus u cant keep as warm as u could have without it.

Maybe it's because the pilot does not possess offensive capabilities but the paratrooper does. Anybody has an answer.

This painting does have some obvious propaganda value. Are
these "bandits" SPECOPS, or just "pirates on land"?

Donīt engage enemy personel that are protected by international laws, if you donīt want them to attack you either . It could be you that are wounded and helpless.
The same propaganda also applies here. We all know that the combat
medics are the least well armed troops in the army, and even so during
operational deployment on the battlefield.

This last one is not exactly cartoon-material, but has Swedish soldiers in it nevertheless.

I also found another picture that I included into this thread.

Oh, no problem. I can't see how any Roman Catholic could possibly be offended by such an even handed and factually accurate comment. I can hardly wait for Sunday, when my congregation will conduct yet another bloodbath down at the soup kitchen.

Who you really have to look out for is those cow-tipping, ice prancing, racially inferior descendants of exiled infected French prostitutes, you know - Canadians.. No offense to any Canadians, but it's a proven fact.

"Save the Church like they have saved us."
Is not like how they saved them physicly but spiritully. I'm church going and "saved" means that you become a Christian.
Also, the Roman Catholics have nothing to do with Sweden. Sweden resisted the catholics many times, In fact they went to war with the Holy Roman Empire at some point. The main churches in Sweden are Lutheren.
