Why are the Sweds and Swiss always remaining netural even during wars like WW2?

War is bad so can you stay out off it then do it. And during WW II, We didn’t have the military capacity to defend our own territory , so what could we have done? Declaring war on Germany? And we helped Finland during the winter war and we did take care off thousands off Finnish children

Its better to ride out a storm then fight it if you know you gone lose

Well it still exsits to this day. The sweds were part of ISAF but the swiss doesnt even do that do they?

Because when they're neutral they can sell their weapons to both sides ;) Like Bofors and Oerlikon during the WWII :)

Switzerland is a member of Partnership for Peace, and Swiss troops are among the NATO contingent in Kosovo.

More countries would be nautral today, hadn't they been invaded during WWII... like all the nordic countries...

Partnership for Peace is an organization under the NATO umbrella, but extended to non-NATO members, with the aim of coordinating peacekeeping operations and standardizing procedures. Have o look at the NATO website. Practically all countries in the Council of Europe are members, except for that ****-hole Malta.

May-June 1940. Several time, of the German aviators violates the Swiss airspace. Swiss hunters continue them to Me-109 and five cut down some, including, May 10, the first bomber. Accustomed with the victory, these incidents upset Lufwaffe. June the 4 and 8, three escadrilles of Me-110 of the squadron of destruction 1 receive the order to give a lesson to Swiss and to cut down the greatest possible number of Me-109. To 44 planes are implied in aerial combats violent one along the Jura. The results of these attacks are not at all those which Lufwaffe had imagined, since the Germans lose 11 planes, Swiss 3. Several pilots are killed or seriously wounded. In the two camps, many are the damaged planes. Hitler intervenes in person. Ten saboteurs are in charge of mission counters Swiss aerodromes. The Goering marshal, commander-in-chief of Lufwaffe, summons the Swiss ones to return to Germany the hunters Me-109 which had been bought there, if not the coal deliveries will be suspended. On pressure of the federal Council, the Guisan General must be solved to soften the defense of neutrality in our airspace and to even prohibit to the pilots to start the combat. The interned crews and their planes still in in-flight status are liberally returned to Germany...

NB : In 1944, a Swiss hunter was cut down by a plane American and a Swiss city bombarded by of B-17.
