I have Nortons Internet Security, Systems Works, and Anti-Virus, which was about $100.00. The Internet Security has a pop up blocker which use to work fine, and now I get pop ups like crazy, is it possible something gets into my computer and turns it off without me knowing, or sometype of worm?, but any advice is appreciated. Thank You.

this should be in teh off topic forum, but i'll bite.
are you sure you have the pop-up blocker on in the preferences? have you updated the program recently? i don't know why it would work for a while and then stop working all together. :|
get the google toolbar. It will kill popups for free.
Some programs won't allow any popups or new windows to open. If you reduce the security it will allow "new windows to open". So some web designers fool the program into thinking that the pop-up is a new window. Kinda hard to explain, but I hope you understand what I was trying to say :|

If it turns off but counts down you have a blaster worm! If you do, go to microsoft.com and download the fix for it. It must of gotten in when you were installing your new Internet security. This usually happens because when you install new security software you first need to uninstall your old one and while you do this your pc is very volnerable.

Any software/hardware firewall can do a good job at blocking blaster worm. My entire network wasn't infected thanks to my L33T router and software firewalls

Blaster had no effect on me...I work for msn.
Norton is lame. I've grown to liking zone alarm pro. Works simple.
Adware or Spybot S&D will work to remove add-ware. I use both actually. Either or works. Note that adware and spybot will bog out if it's trying to delete alot of spyware. (i.e. over 1000 piece's...I had to delete them 200 at a time on some not so new or well kept computers)

speaking of norton products has anyone actually managed to activate antivirus 2004 the online system doesn't work and can't get through on the phone with out having to pay through the nose for the privilige. I think they need to have a little rethink about activation.
this is the last norton product i will be buying

I used Norton firewall on Mac OS 8.6 a while back and it did its job but I have heard a few gripes from XP users concerning Norton products.
Use a spyware detection program to seek out and eliminate spyware. Give Ad Aware or Spybot: Search and Destroy a try. They're two of the best spyware removal programs out there.
Ad Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Spybody S&D: http://security.kolla.de/
Good luck, spyware or adware are usually the culprits when it comes to popups and system usage at an astronomically high rate.
Spybot S&D is cool, sorts out all the pesky problems
hmmm... I'm gonna have to renew norton soon, well find another 'free' one in any case.
