Do you mean if we know the Marine with the M16/203?

I think she is asking if we have seen that picture apart some larger context.

Sorry maybe not my busines but why you want to identify him??? any aditional info???
Well based on the quality of the pic and the black border around it, it looks like it's from the AFP. I'll look through their catalogue.

Thank you Hood! It's a silly complicated story, really. There's a girl who is a member of a military wives site I go to who says it's her husband. A personal photo. However, I came to the conclusion that it's a fake. I noticed the border and etc. She also claims it was taken at an Iraqi compound last March. To my understanding there were no Marines in Iraq in early March. My husband was also over there and at that time everyone was still in Kuwait. Also she says hes intel but by looking at the pic, weapon etc...He appears to be infantry. Also she says hes an officer.
Basically, I think she's a troll and possibly isn't even married to a Marine at all. I know it may seem like catty women drama, sorry. I was just hoping maybe someone has posted it here from a news site and recognized it.
From the border I think I have narrowed it down to an MSNBC or Newsweek picture.

The Marines did go in with the rest of the Army in the beginning of the invasion. Your husband may just not have been part of the units at the forefront.

This pic was supposedly taken in early March, before the "shock and awe", Before anyone advanced in.

Ahh okay. Well she claims he's an officer? I find that highly unlikely, as an officer wouldn't be carrying an M203 (unless you Marines here know otherwise).

I highly doubt if a Marine officer would be carrying an M-203. Besides, most of the Marines, especially officers, would have already received their Desert MARPAT uniforms.
Yeah but even the tip of the spear went in after the 20th of March. The only forces in country before that were SF.

Sorry I'm not an expert but isn't that L7A2 in the background or how you call it... (you know this marine APC) so maybe this guy is marnine not infantryman..

from the looks of the picture they do not even look like they are in a combat operation - more like target practice or training - notice some guys are on the wrong side of the wall - and other guys are just standing around in the back - i highly doubt they are in iraq at all
