Why did you just put Lyndon Johnson and Ronald Reagan as the other two options? Your poll is a little slanted.

your post shows you don't know much about US history

how unfortunate, it seems the euros have been emboldened by the disaster and bush's "helplessness" in this situation. I suspect quite a bit of 'you deserved it' nonsense will spill over into the pages of european papers and discourse.

Bush isn't fantastic, but Johnson takes the cake.

Carter was worse than Johnson.

Bush is pretty damn great. Like Reagan, he is despised by the left but will nonetheless go down in history as one of the best.

- This thread is about the worst US president
- A european posted it with ridiculous choices that show he doesn't know US history very well
- Yes, I have seen a sharp rise in the last few days of euro on american and american on euro fighting especially with the influx of new people (many of whom seem like previously banned members)
- and yes there has been plenty stories such as the German (minister?) decrying the disaster as the result of the United States and taking a few moments to scorn the United States.

- I have spent enough time (living vs visiting) in europe to have some idea. And this is not necessary to observe the obvious, recent trends on this board - which I pointed out above

thank you for playing, I'm getting tired of this crap

Then why did you talk about bad bad Europe?

- Yes, I have seen a sharp rise in the last few days of euro on american and american on euro fighting especially with the influx of new people (many of whom seem like previously banned members)

The difference between US and Europe is huge. US citizens donīt want to be like Europeans, Europeans donīt want to be like US citizens.

- and yes there has been plenty stories such as the German (minister?) decrying the disaster as the result of the United States and taking a few moments to scorn the United States.

The statement of our minister wasnīt pilitically coorect. But he speaks out what many people think. Itīs just the wrong time to discuss it.

- I have spent enough time (living vs visiting) in europe to have some idea. And this is not necessary to observe the obvious, recent trends on this board - which I pointed out above

As I mentioned above, the differences are huge. And Bush in person symbolises everything Europe doesnīt like.

thank you for playing, I'm getting tired of this crap

Me too. But this crap still will be ongoing for a long time. Too much glass has been broken.

Jimmy Carter was a better former President than he ever was at being president.

Rutherford B. Hayes, his decision to remove Union troops out of the South after Civil War during its period of reconstruction had a long destructive repercussion later on.

The options available are uneducated, how can you leave off Millard Fillmore?!?!?!

The question, really comes down to a favourite question of mine:

Does man make history, or does history make the man?

With U.S President's, it really comes down to personal favourite. I'm entitled to an opinion, but I can't really say, because I do not know neither Lyndon B. Johnson, nor Carter nor Reagan well enough to make an educated opinion on the "worst" President ever. I'll give it a shot, although, i'll try to keep it more educated than opiniated.

This thread, is as useless as the best president, you might as well, ask everyone what their favourite "best" flavour of gum is?

Carter, didn't have much luck, while he was president. How he handled the issues, will effect, the way he is seen as an ex-president, it is upto the advisors, to have advised Carter on the right decisions and course of action he should have taken. It's not, as if Carter nor any other president, makes up their mind in an instant, of what policy should be.

I think Nixon can not be easily labelled as the worst either. Although he was a crook, as he so denied (love the scene in Family Guy, I'm not a crook), he brought the Americans back from Vietnam. It's your own opinion, whether it was a good or bad decision, but he ended a costly war, that to this day haunts America, and its relations with the armed forces.

Lyndon B. Johnson, is not a choice I can easily relate to, his options and decisions were quite questionable and heavy handed. While the same question, may be asked of Reagan. Although Yuppies, became a minority within society, Reagonomics, is blamed for the slump that the economy eventually fell into. Unemployment and poverty, were a big issue in the 80s. His questionable, and in my opinion useless multi-bilion lasers in space, to defend against the evil empire, of at the time, already dead Brezhnev, was probably as big of a mistake as the Contra Scandal. I don't understand, how he saved Planet Earth from destruction? Someone, can perhaps please explain this to me?

Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt were two different Presidents from different times.

Teddy Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States. FDR was the 32nd President of the United States. Both, former Governors of New York.

hehe. I think we should use 'truce tags' so we don't have to retype all the nonsense over and over. There is a simple understanding of the positions that are taken and we can both sleep in the trenches for yet another night ;)

I love the way, everyone claims Reagan as the next best thing to sliced bread, and yet they don't explain what he did, or what he didn't do. I'm really interesting, in this whole claim, of Reagan saving the world, singlehandedly?

I'm still waiting here...

What the hell do you care anyway, Yosy? We've had better and we've had worse, but either way it has little to do with you. Do you vote in US elections?

For someone who doesn't seem to care much for US politics, you certainly share in our tendency to neglect minding our own business.

Clinton ranks up at the top

Yeah I loved the way he feels our pain. When it comes to bombing aspirin factories he's defiantly one of the best and showed incredible resolve. Let us not forget the great wisdom he displayed in Mogadishu, he increased the scope of the military’s mission while decreasing the troop allocation.
One of the top ten jokes from the 90s

statement " We have to thank Bill and Al for the state of the economy"
reply "You mean Bill Clinton and Al Gore?"
"No I mean bill Gates and Al Greenspan of course"

I asked a friend of mine who is a Clinton die hard to name one policy Clinton got passed that really helped change anything. After a month he gave up but still believes Clinton was a great president.

Well come to think of it maybe he helped improve the long term quality of the NBA, I mean midnight basket ball courts - that is ingenious.

Let's not forget the mercy he showed when he issued those pardons as he left office. The list could go on and on. A True example to the world

Mission creep started under Bush Sr. and that is a fact. He left the mess for Clinton to handle. I find it extremely odd that you are using Somalia as a slam on Clinton and ignoring the mega cluster**** in Iraq. You must not watch much news.

Maybe we should compare the economy, state of world affairs, or even gas prices under Clinton/Bush Jr.
