I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick to death of the ongoing and endless debates going on about Israel V Palestine,it, for the best part of it is totally one sided, and always goes the same way!

I wanted this posted under the General Topics but there was no poll option there in the new topics !

I don't think they should be banned, but its so overdone that it gets borring and stressfull comming here and reading flame wars all the time.

A complete banning would be nice, but those actually have military values should be left alone. Frankly, I am tired of the constant flaming over the topic in here.

Just for the sake of interest , haven't you recently started one , Argyll ? And how you plan to ban them ? Almost every 16 years old boy here making they suggestions ... I think this site should stop being political at all , as far as it can be .

they're needed to educate the ignorant masses.

And I am sure there are enough israelis to start a war here. It only takes one anyways.

Yes I started one and it's going down the same fuc*ing road as EVERY SINGLE THREAD about that region...........it's tiresome, and pointless,as there are the Israeli views, and there are American views, and then there are the European views, which the Israeli's label anti semetic.....can you see where even this one is going?

I always like to see a balanced view on things, with this subject you NEVER get one NEVER,and it's a shame, because how are those who do not live there get to know what things are like ,when there is only one side ever telling the stories?,and when someone questions their side of thing's they get flamed ,and made out to be liars, there are truth's ,home truths and then incorrect truths..........it's waste of time!

I agree with you . I can , and i am trying to debate the millitary part of it . As almost every Israelies in here try , i bet . No problem . I was actually wanted to present something like that to channel moderator in here . By the way , unfortunnatly you would not get any better answer from Palestinians ... Try to enter to any Palestinian chat .

And by the way , i don't label Euro views only Anti semitic , i label it more as ignorant bunch of rabish , and i rather to talk with Araphat himself .

non-zero possibility

I'm in favor of banning Ducimus 19, just for the record. Hey, I've got an even better question: Who's more annoying? Myself; Douchebag 19, or PT.
Choose wisely.

Yes, the topic is overburned. But one should still be able to talk about it.

Banning it would just proove that we are a bunch of immature teens that can't debate of an important subject ...

I've yet to see any informative/mature discussion besides flaming yet on the post's.

Besides the quality of the site lately has been harshly welfare, most of the post's resort just to flaming and none of it has any use.

If you don't want to read them...don't read them. Problem solved.

How about we ban all other topics that keep coming up too? Like AK47 vs M16, or "is the Iraq War justified," or "is Bush a good President," or "10,000,000 reasons why Clinton sucks." Soon, we wouldn't have anything at all besides news announcements! Wouldn't that rock?

I don't think the Israeli vs Palestinian threads should be banned but i think something should be done to stop so many threads turning into the same discussion again and again and again.

I agree with Javehn when he says this site has become way too political recently.

How about a break from political posts for a day or two and see how that goes?

I don't think that we should ban the discussion.

But I agree with Javehn, this site has become way to political lately. We had a very good rule in the Swedish army, all political talk was banned. It didn't matter if it was good things or bad things you were discussing.

I really miss that rule sometimes out here in the civilian darkness.

Until perhaps six months ago, Militaryphotos.net was the site for military information and photos. Then there were a sudden influx of new members who logged on to do nothing but argue political issues, the Mid-East Crisis being the predominant one.

Why do they come to this site to propagate their views to members who, once they've made their point don't want to belabor the issue, and to argue with immature teenagers, who use the forum as a chatroom? Perhaps because they need to convince themselves psychologically that their cause is right and others are wrong. Whatever the reason, it's become almost painful to scroll through the pro-whatever rhetoric to read anything of substance lately.

nah it was just as bad then, it was just that you didn't realise how young most of the people posting were and the war in Iraq provided a lot more military topics.

oh and I don't think anything should be banned, perhaps limited hood should make a couple of other mods like maybe california joe or jack, to stop things getting to repetitive (no offence tane)

Actually, as far as I can tell, the real fight seemed to start in January of 2003, when "BMF" and "f---israel" descended on the photos section and started posting political rants as captions to photos in the "Israel/Palestine" photo gallery (the rants were politically-oriented and generally had nothing to do with the pictures). That is, as far as I can tell, the first snowballing of the political argument about the Arab-Israel conflict on militaryphotos.net. It really was the anti-Israeli crowd that first played the politics card here. The pro-Israeli crowd didn't go into all this non-military stuff (arguments over borders, "whose land is it anyway," the history of Zionism, etc) until the anti-Israel crowd brought it up. If you don't believe me, go to the photo galleries and look for yourself. Or ask FallenAngel, he was one of the primary contributors back then.

I have a suggestion : even if there are many disturbing people in here , there are many people who do want to know what is going on there .
I thought about open new Palestine-Israeli conflict thread , and concentrate every quesion there , without people polluting different many threads . Something like Chechen war , that turned to be on of the better thread in here . Only proffesional questions , without any empty statements ...

In first mark of trouble people in there , i would ask moderator to close that thread . Unfortunatly , it is hearts that many allike subjects can be discusted in here , but this one brings a lot of Political bagage with it , and atrackting bad people . I allready opened once something like that , and it went good , until people loosed interest in it , and instead continued to pollute another threads, hijack them , and turn them to crap .

Can that be a good idea ? To open some proffessional thread about this conflict, where i can add some personal experience perhaps ?
