Still unacceptable behaviour for a soldier, he is suposed to maintain order and set an example not to worsen it by kicking the **** out of an already on the ground protester

Firstly these soldiers are probably reservists, so you can’t ask and expect of them the same level of self-control as for a professional soldier.
Secondly this is not a case of peace maintaining in a foreign county but an operation that directly serve the protection of the people of the country these soldiers are from.
I don’t think anyone would have the same comportment with some people who don’t let you protect some random people from the country you’re maintaining the peace in or your own family!

Reserve or not, your still a professional soldier, an are still held to the same standards as those who are full time.

Also, aren't all reservists ex full time soldiers? I believe in Israel, once you've done your first contract(when you get drafted) you can either stay full time, or quit, but you have to be in the reserves for a few years after.

1. Those are defiently not reservists - look at thier gear, if you know something about it you'll easly thier not reservist.
2. Even if they are (which they aren't), not only that you can expect them for the same level of self-control, but you should expect for a much higher level. Remeber that unlike most IDF soldiers which are usually in the age of 18-22, reservist are much older, many of them already have family and they are no longer a hot minded teenagers.
3. I can't tell if it was justified since we don't know the whole story, but unfortuantly, in most cases we find out that it wasn't neccery :/ (I hope this isn't the case)

***I serve in the IDF, and been to a similar situations and I do belive that our army have the highest moral standarts (much higher then many so called "cultured" countries), but still, such things shouldn't happend unless there was no other option.

I wish there were some later shots from today posted from the live videos on Fox News and stuff. The interstate where the helicopter airlift is being conducted has US Army Special Forces personnel providing landing zone security and commo operations while 4th Inf Div UH-60s and USAF Special Ops MH-53s are evacuation people. Many different units down there helping out. I was shocked when I saw the guys with the SF shoulder sleave insignia some recent combat veterns with the combat patch. I don’t know if it was necessary, maybe I was mistaken on the statue of these soldiers and by reservist I meant draftee as opposed to professional soldier, but what I mean is that I understand his acts in the actual situation. What I don’t understand is these foreign protester especially those from the west countries!
And I totally agree on the high moral standards of the IDF and the Israeli nation, because after all it had to go through it still didn’t fall into chaos and turn into a violent repressive regime.

Yup. It really illustrates how the weakest and most vulnerable suffer the most. When people complain the city wasn't totally evacuated you just need to take one look at these people and realise they didn't have a chance :(

Why is he in 3 color, didn't have time to change?

really, why are they in 3 colour? Are any of these straight from iraq?

Judging by him having a combat patch (unit patch worn on right arm), I would say yes, it is because they are just back from Iraq or A-stan.

Going to Palestine to try stopping Israel building a barrier that could protect its citizen is just plain stupid.
If I was in the soldier’s place I would feel a strong anger too.

Still unacceptable behaviour for a soldier, he is suposed to maintain order and set an example not to worsen it by kicking the **** out of an already on the ground protester

However, i don't know the story behind this pic.The picture itself speaks volumes. The guy swinging the boot wound that thing up like he was going for the extra point against Green Bay. Not a very nice thing to do.

Do you wonder why these foriegn 'peace activists' don't stop the Palistinians from throwing rocks at israeli soldiers? If they are really all about peace, you'd think they would. Instead they are running distraction for the soldiers. So a palistinian has a chance to nail one with a rock. These 'peace activists deserve what ever happens to them. :slap:

Dude, I understand that throwing a rock in such a frustrating situation can be a bitch. But if everyone retaliates, then it never ends. The "Peace Activists" throw rocks at IDF, IDF kicks/hits "Peace Activists" , more palestinians get pissed etc...

If the soldiers don't react, then the "Peace Activists" realise how pointless this is. But when they do, this gives that random guy with a camera a bunch of pictures to use as propaganda.

Judging by him having a combat patch (unit patch worn on right arm), I would say yes, it is because they are just back from Iraq or A-stan.
Just cause he has a combat patch, doesn't mean he just got it recently.

As for why he's wearing DCUs, dunno, maybe he was about to overseas, but he got sent to help out. All we can do is guess as to why he's in DCUs though.

This pic is still a disgrace.
One pic like that and the all IDF is judged. Punish the guy, if only to be stupid enough to do it in front of the camera.
On the other hand, we are not trained in proper imoblisation technics like any LEO, and often lack the legal background allowing us to arrest people unless they create a real and immediate threat to the mission.
In any way, the ROE should be tougher and clear to civilians too, get too close to our vehicule, get shot, attack our soldiers, get shot, throw a molotov, get shot.
In the same time, we are still waiting for better and less lethal crowd control devices.
All in all, for those that the fence bother, i`ll accept your point the day the rich europe and USA will open their border to their poorer neighbours, in between, i protect myself by the least invasive mean possible. Don`t forget, god fences make good neighbours.

We don't know the background to this picture. Consider that before you rush to judgement. For all we know this man could just have hit that soldier, or maybe battered one of his colleagues senseless, or spat in his face or anything.

The camera never lies, it just doesn't tell the whole truth.

If there was anything that I learnt from the Israeli's, is that they don't give a damb what other people think... Typical Israeli...

Why is he in 3 color, didn't have time to change?

really, why are they in 3 colour? Are any of these straight from iraq?

Judging by him having a combat patch (unit patch worn on right arm), I would say yes, it is because they are just back from Iraq or A-stan.
Just cause he has a combat patch, doesn't mean he just got it recently.

As for why he's wearing DCUs, dunno, maybe he was about to overseas, but he got sent to help out. All we can do is guess as to why he's in DCUs though.

What kind of beer is that? Miller High Life? Probably warm too.

That is a Corana. Somebody get that man a lime!

Maybe he doesn't want his everyday Woodland or ACU BDU to get dirty and he wears his 3 Color instead?

No. I believe this unit flew directly into New Orleans as they returned from Iraq.
