Guys and girls,

I know there is a lot of memmbers from US here, so this question is mostly for our US people.

How many of you would like to see a documentary about Russian Special forces on TV? Just want to know if there is a taste for it out there. Lets just say SOBR or VITYAZ for example. Internal Affairs Rapid deployment Red Berets. Show their weapons, gear, training, interviews, and some footage from Chechnya.

Thanks a lot

Any doctumentary about the military interests me. I'd love to see something like that, especially as there's a bit of a lack of that in the US.

That sounds good but please don't hire Michael Moore to direct it for you.

I'd definitely watch it. You don't see to many shows on about special ops from other countries.

I saw a really interesting documentary about Delta Force (Peru) on History Channel a few weeks ago. It was about the raid on the Japanese embassy. It was pretty impressive to watch these guys do the breach.

I remember seeing the Japanese embassy in Peru incident on the news. I have only heard about it once afterwards though...when I was waiting in line to get CWO Micahel Durant's autograph. I wish I could have seen that History Channel special.

What's wrong with the History Channel's Civil War specials? Those paintings that make gunshot and cannon sounds are nifty.

Ken Burns has been immortalized for that still photo technique. :) Anyone remember the name of that show on Delta in Peru? I might be able to find a re-run. Concerning a Russian show, would we really see something like that? I can't remember the last time I saw a show that highlighted their military other than showing the history of Kalashnikov.

I am not sure what channel it was on but a few weeks ago there was something on (Discovery, Crime tv.) I dont know but it talked about the different police types around the world & it talked about the special groups of the units one of them was SOBR (it was the best stuff I have seen on that unit) It also showed Russian cops on a day to day thing. The one russian cop said that if you gave an american cop one day on the russian streets he would not show up for work the next. ( I dont know about that :) Most of the cops I know would NEVER GIVE UP) But this show was very cool! And I would love to see it and other like it. I have been look to see it would come back on.

I would love to see something like that. I watched a program the other day about the Mi-24 Hind and its role in Afghanistan, as well as its future. I was impressed by the interviews and first-hand narratives and some of the tiny little facts interspersed throughout the documentary.

But, back on topic, yes, I would definitely enjoy something about the Russian side of things. I would especially like to see an analysis and chronology of the interactions between our governments from the beginning of the 20th century and onward. Starting with WWI, moving on to WWII, highlighting at what points policies and alliances changed toward the two governments. And then at the end, an analysis of how Russia currently interacts and how it may interact in the future with the West.

So, uh, to make a long post short, yes, I would like to see something like that. :D
