M56 Coyote
Generator, Smoke, Mechanical: Motorized Dual Purpose Unit:

Mission: The M56 Coyote enhances the division and corps commander's ability to deny the enemy information, to protect his forces, and to dominate the maneuver battle. Six M56 Coyotes form the smoke platoon. The M56 will operate in support of light and airborne maneuver units by disseminating smoke on the move and from stationary positions to defeat enemy sensors and smart munitions such as tank thermal sights, guided munitions, directed energy weapons, and other systems operating in the visual through far-infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Could they have air droppable equivalents? In a pinch, they could call in support to drop a screen to cover their position. Also no manned targets sitting out in the open at the edge of the screen in a somewhat dangerous position.

Shut up it didn't happen for us I wish it didn't happen that stuff was sickkk. As I recall they let out a small burst and it was thick stuff. Deffinetly wish we'd worn gas masks for that one. I inhaled a huge wifff of it, I was spitting brown **** out for the next half hour lol.

Just so you know I ain't trying to be rude, but I was annoyed at having to once again inhale what must be carcenogenic fumes.

Actually seen one of these on campus before. They parked one behind an army booth during a campus orientation day.

I believe one of these things was involved in an accident at a South German training ground several years ago.
It was driving around smoking the area when it was overrun by a Leopard 2 MBT whose crew hadn't known about its presence in the area (there seemingly was some kind of communications deficit between the American and German forces involved) and saw it too late to brake.
The American soldiers were killed.
