this is the coolest bus ever. it's called "the rhino" and it runs from BIAP (baghdad international airport) to the IZ (international zone, formerly green zone) via route irish (baghdad airport road). it's israeli built and hard as a coffin nail. one of our site managers was in one when a VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) rammed into the front passenger side. the explosion lifted the rhino 3 feet off of the ground, spider webbed the front windows, and blew out the front passenger tire. no one was hurt and the rhino didn't stop until it arrived at its destination in the international zone. if only the israelis could figure out how to keep the bomb off of the bus in the first place.

Is this the aftermath of the incident? According to their site they were hit by a BMW with an estimated 1000lb of explosives.

US Army is using them and Saddam is taken back and forth to court in them. Donald Rumsfeld has been transported in them too....errrr...not to court

Is the army just using these buses or private security teams. On another point how come most of the security teams are just driving normal Suv's in Iraq? Im sure the US government requires security companies to provide staff with full armour transport...

Uglier than...I don't know but as long as it gets the job done.

With all that armor, I'd have to wonder tabout the KPG and speed.

No mate.

I'm sure it's KBR who runs them, and another PMC runs security details on them......all under the Dept of State banner

You would think that the most effect design to counter act explosives would be an angled surface, not verticle.
