An Airbus 330 converted for use as an aerial refueling tanker for the military is seen in this artists rendering. Britain is set to award a $24 billion military plane contract to a consortium led by Airbus parent EADS in a blow to rival Boeing Co, an industry source said on January 23, 2004. Europe's largest order for planes that refuel military jets would be a big win for Airbus -- which would supply civilian planes to be converted into air tankers -- and crack open a sector where Boeing has long held a near-monopoly. 'The order is expected to go to EADS,' the industry source said, adding an announcement was likely on Monday, but may come as early as Friday. Photo by *******

Sweet pictures.

Is there anyone who can tell me why it says Bastogne on the wall
http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Jan2004/200401221b.jpg
I know that the fight in Bastogne was a very crucial part of the 101st history. Anyone have any good inside information about why i'd be glad to hear it.
The 101st were known as the Bastards of Bastogne for their tenacious defense of the woods and town. Outnumbered outgunned and with no air support they beat back repeated German attacks.
It is considered their most glorious moment by many people and they refer to it in respect and as an example of what they stand for.

Arabian Sea (Jan. 17, 2003) – Spanish special operations forces soldiers conduct a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) operation aboard the Military Sealift Command (MSC) combat stores ship USNS Saturn (T-AFS 10) during Exercise Sea Saber 2004. Sponsored by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/ Commander, 5th Fleet, Sea Saber was the fifth in a series of multi-national exercises based on the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) announced by President George Bush in May of 2003 in Krakow, Poland. Sea Saber was the first PSI exercise led by the United States, and the first to be conducted in the Arabian Sea, a key region of proliferation concern. It involved the largest number of nations to participate in any PSI exercise to date. The exercise focused on one contingency, the interdiction of a maritime shipment on the high seas. Participants practiced intercepting, boarding and searching vessels thought to be illegally trafficking weapons of mass destruction or related materials. Damn Remov, good job on the small arms!

Delux 247, Bastogne has to do with the 101st in WW II, as you know. But, the 1st Brigade of the 101st Abn Div (AA) is known as the Bastogne Brigade. 1st Bde is formed around the 327th Infantry Regiment, which I believe was there, during the Battle of the Bulge. (although it was a Glider unit then)

Does the ship provide a very stable firing platfor for those markmen? Doesn't the swell affect their aim.

Indonesian soldiers of the newly-formed Raider battalions march during a parade at a ceremony commemorating the 58th anniversary of the Indonesian Army in Jakarta, in this Dec. 22, 2003 file photo. Top commanders have stressed that their troops will remain neutral in the election process. Analysts say that it is almost inconceivable that behind the scenes, military generals will not use their newfound clout to prop up the candidacy of President Megawati Sukarnoputri, seen as a close political ally. Sweet pictures.

Is there anyone who can tell me why it says Bastogne on the wall
http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Jan2004/200401221b.jpg
I know that the fight in Bastogne was a very crucial part of the 101st history. Anyone have any good inside information about why i'd be glad to hear it.It is an Airborne thing. Go watch Band of Brothers.

Thanks for all the answers as to why it said Bastogne on the wall, I feel that my question has been answered.

I have the whole DVD-box with Band of Brothers. I try not to watch it too often, don't want it to lose its "magic". I've also read the book by Stephen E. Ambrose, It's very good.
