The sight claims it to be an F-14, but I highly doubt it since the Tomcat has two engines and it's capable on flying on a single engine. Does anyone know what aircraft is this. If this video is old or if someone else already posted it before mods just delete this thread.

Ouch.

If this had been a single engine a/c, it wouldn't have gotten this far.

So its rather likely it was an F-14, even if its capable of flying on one engine... seems it stalled and lacked power to get up or something... p-)

When flying at normal speeds at normal angles of attack a twin engine fighter has no problems with one engine failing.

The F-14 however in its early models had serious engine problems and quite a few were lost to flat spins where the engines stalled and the aircraft crashed. The D model introduced a much better engine (that had more power in dry (non afterburning) thrust than the older engine had in full AB). In fact the new engine was so much better that the F-14D didn't need AB on takeoff to get airborne and was a much better aircraft.

However coming in to land or just on takeoff are two areas of flight where the loss of half your power will more likely than not be fatal whether you have one engine or two.

I was at an Airshow today and i talked to a crew of a Blackhawk that just returned from Iraq, they said they had more problems with birds being sucked into the engine than sand. :cantbeli:

This Isn't an F-14. Although the site does say so, someone in a previous thread showing this confirmed it was a Nato trainer. I think it was a Canadian air force CT-155 Hawk. Look how exposed the intakes are :
