does anyone know if they have a mrotc program at the university of iowa? i checked their website but i cant find any info, probably related to my own inability... but still, id like to know.

oh and also, i heard somewhere that if you do navy rotc that that experience can be transfered over to the marines if you want.

I know Iowa University has Army ROTC. I'm sure they have Navy too, personally I would go straight for the Marines. :D

You can always get your credit hours and go OCS or whatever the Marines call it.

heres the thing, i know i want to do marines, however, i dont want to go straight. id like to finish school first.

my local recruiter said i can do a summer session, where i can do my training between semesters, but im pretty sure that wouldnt be a smart way to go, cuz id be way behind at each new level.

so id like to do rotc during college, even though id personally rather do some more grunt level work (signal men, specifically combat photog).

can you even do that kind of work as an officer?

If they have Navy ROTC, they probably have Marine-Option.

You might inform the Navy of that because they don't seem to be aware of it. According to the Navy, NROTC is offered at Iowa State (Ames) not at the University of Iowa

There's no such animal MROTC....NROTC has what is referred to as the Marine Option.

According to the Navy they don't have an NROTC unit located at the The University of Iowa.

I never said it had Navy ROTC I said it might. So I misread the thing for Army ROTC and made a simple mistake you don't have to be a prick and sound so smug about it. Sorry, we are all not the smartest men alive like yourself.

Excuse me, but here is what you said.

You apparently don't know the meaning of the word "sure".

It would behoove you to peruse a dictionary from time to time.

I haven't researched the other ROTC programs but my friend just enlisted in the Marine Reserves or whatever and after boot, he can come back and restart school. He does the one weekend a month bull**** and can go to school. If he graduates and all that good stuff, he says the Marines will have an officer slot for him.

Do some research into an SMP (Simultaneous Membership Program).

I would go straight for the Marines.

This guy says he'd go straight to get in the Marines.

Leno and Letterman would have a field day with this.
