The "Russians" are not desperate.
You mean "they" need money. Whoever "they" are, I can hazard that the Russian military, even in it's well-post Soviet days, under the gun of the economists, are not sponsoring this "training course".
It's 'probably' a bunch of ex-soldiers running a "dude ranch". Or a sop to those Yanks who have the cash to be fooled and head out. Don't quote me on that... I don't know. :-) Do not similiar "courses" pop up, in English, as this site is, all over "Soldier Of Fortune"-type magazines constantly in the US? Look at old SOF magazines... I'm sure you can find old adverts for "Rhodesian Light Infantry" courses in "the bush" dotted about the years... :-)
They appeal to the "adventurous"...
Actually... where did you come across the advert for that site? And were you tempted?
:-)
cheers

Some years ago you even could go to a "POW-camp" in the UK and stay there for up to a month on holiday. If that aint weird, nothing is.

Anyway, they say its the training minus the physical and mental pain and you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Whats the point!? Ive never been in the military but I would think thats it's the parts this course leaves out that makes a real soldier. What good is knowing how to shoot if you piss your pants whenever the enemy is around?! Am I wrong?

I ran across a site a few months ago that offered teamwork training for corporate managers. It was supposedly run by ex-UKSF guys.
They'd even let you dress up in full 22SAS kit and storm some buildings with them. The picture of a pudgy, short woman complete with gas mask and shotgun was priceless.
If anybody has it bookmarked, please post it here.
I'll go for some of that! Rhodesian Light Infantry were kickass troops. Could I keep the FAL?
But then, stomring buildings in full SAS kit... Sheesh, why aren't I rich? :D
Also, you can go to Moscow and get fleying time in stuff like the Su-27. That has got to be awesome. Sukhoi just makes the coolest jets ;)
