Who likes the FN SCAR MK. 16, and who likes the XM8?

I believe even though the XM8 has had political problems and malfunctions, but the US Army is keeping the projects going. And, I heard the FN SCAR is soon to be an official SOF weapon.

Does anyone have anything?

The ol' man always declares that the XM8 sucks to hell but he loved firing the FN SCAR... especially the H (7.62)


On a side note, since a couple weeks ago I've been converted to believe the ACU sucks... Seeing my pops wear it, it looks good and he says it's very convenient. But I can see NO way that thing can blend into ANY environment.

Maybe I am mistaken, but is the 7.62 versions barrel shorter than the .223? That doesn't seem so hot. Of course, I haven't fired either, but still.

There are three barrel lengths available for each version: a short barrel (CQC), a carbine barrel, and a long barrel (SV).

So what is displayed above are the standard SCAR-L carbine and the short barreled SCAR-H (CQC).

My dad wears that USSOC emblem depicted in that FN SCAR photo. He loved shooting the FN SCAR-H because "The US needs a nice, higher-calibered weapon to be standard issue."

It's a honor each & every time I get to demonstrate the S.C.A.R. platform for visiting dignitaries. To quote one of the military officers present after the firing & demonstration: "I'll take two of'em!" (WITH A BIG TOOTHY SMILE) I too concur.
