Also, ask your recruiter about it if you have one. If not, find the nearest Army recruiter near you.

EDIT: Woops, did not see NcDeuce's post. I'll keep the links up there though, mainly because I like the animation stuff the Army boys did :D

3. there isnt one near me (actually, i think theres one 1/2 hour from me.

No problem. They kinda hide it.

Actually, nah, on the main goarmy.com page, in the lower right, it has a section titled "Special Professions." Under that is a link labeled "Ranger" ;)

Those links should help you a lot with getting your physical training to the best before you attend the school. You want to be in tip-top shape, take some PT tests by yourself. If you need a PT score sheet and how each push-up, sit-up counts and the run time and whatnot, PM me and I will e-mail some copies.

Be able to swim and you must love running. ;)

well i m also 16 and have no car. i was at the mall however and was checking out stores on the other side of the street and i found a marine and army recruiting station (holy ****, just my look). the army recruiter guy was also filipino so yea it was easier to talk to him. i didnt really spend that much time in the marine one, i was nervous so i got in and got a brochure then went nextdoor to army. go to goarmy.com and go look up a recruiting station in your area.

Hey, best of luck to you on making Rangers Sierra. I'm 16 too and wanna make SEALs eventually. We've got the same recruiter problem here where I live. One set of them to cover the whole damn county. So I've pretty much just given up on them and just get all my info from the net and books.

oh yes, hell yes

marine training looks too hard and i m not sure if it has good med jobs like army (looking into MOS 91D or 91W). but they do have cool ass uniforms (the blue thing). marines are starting to intrigue me more also.

well, dress blues are "cool ass" and the training is hard, i haven't gone through it yet, but it's a known fact. as for med, i suppose you mean medical jobs. and if thats what you want, than i guess you are barkin up the wrong tree, because as far as i know, the navy provides medical care and assistance for marines. there are navy corpsmen, that are like combat medics, that train with and are part of marine units i beleive. i may be wrong. somebody else could correct me if i am wrong.

The "blue thing" is called Dress Blues, and no, we dont have no stinkin Med jobs.

The medics in Marine Corps units are really Navy Corpsmen, but aside from officially being in the Navy, they're in the Marines by all means practical.

yes, basically what i said, they wear the same uniform (marpat), eat the same food, sleep in the same barracks...so like ratamacue said is basically correct. my art teacher was a corpsman during vietnam, but you would never know it, if he didn't tell you.

Scrim

The Navy provides our Corpsmen, and they are damn good folks. A Corpsman is not just someone we borrow from the Navy if we need him, he is usually permanently assigned to a Marine unit. So part of that unit.

Give a call to your recruiter to pick you up. He would glad to do it too.

Just imagine recruiters are like car salemen and they will try everything to get you to sign up.

Remember, a volunteer professional military beats conscript military hand down but it also comes with a price tag.

you know, i think they put recruiting stations near malls for a reason, i guess since 17-18 yr old dudes will pass by them i guess. So far i have seen two recruiting stations by a mall, including mine and one near SF( er San Francisco)...could be the one you went to, AFG. :D

AFG

lol wow maybe it was. the mall where both recruiting stations were at was called Stonestown, that ring a bell?

edit: lol and next time i go there i ll bring my camera. its funny how so close both recruiting stations are to each other. they're gonna be competing for a lot of potential recruits.
