I thought that the NK Type 68 AKM was used by just the paramilitary units such as the Guardia Civil. I didn't know it was also used by the army. Does Peru also have other AK models? BTW, do you know about the weapons that were used by the anti-government forces, such as Sendero Luminoso or Tupac Amaru? Do they have any stuff that the government didn't have?

Thanks anyway. Do you know of any other Kalashnikov models that are or were used by the Peruvian government? BTW, could you post the small arms inventories of Nicaragua, Syria, Iran, Libya, Iraq Thailand and the Phillippines?

good list there HCV, you left out another weapon. The East German MpikM-K.
It is a 'carbine" model of the Mpi kMS-72 (AKMS) It is the only country, I know of that obtained this type weapon in any quanity.

pedro raefel's thread, shows Peruvian forces with South African SS-77's (or the 5.56mm(?) model. As well, as CR-21's!

KVLG, The Phillipines and Thailand will have US-made weapons. (plus their own domestic versions, as well!)

A majority of weapons issued in Syria, Iraq & Libya, are of USSR origin.
Iraq did have a small domestic line of weapons they made before, OPERATION Iraqi Freedom! (not sure of the status of these plants now? (Remov, any word!?)

Of course, various Warsaw Pact weapons can be found in Libya, Syria & Iraq, today! *Since, Iraqi Freedom and the build-up of Coalition-trained Iraqi forces. They have since imported MORE Former WP weapons!
(Of course the Iraqi list will be longer now, since they have introduced US/NATO weapons to the mix!)

Was Peru the only country that received the MpiKM-K, or were there others?

Well, I've heard that the Sendero Luminoso used Chinese Type 53 bolt-action rifles. I thought that they looked down on the post-Mao leadership in China with contempt.
