Hey folks from here and around,

I have a question to anyone who knows about The Jungle combat and survival schooll of MANAUS.
When, ten years ago I served in french guyane, The colonel of the 3eme REI was the col. SERVEILLE, an old and highly respectable officer, who gave us the regimental yell " SELVA", wich means forest in Brasilian if i m right.
The legend was that he aquired this love for the name when he went to the MANAUS school, during a three month course, so higly demanding that 60% of the selected don`t event pass the first week, and that he finished the course with honour, wich is more than rare.
So, just wondering, thanks for any reply

I've seen reportage on manaus school, the little travel in jungle to find the born.

I remember the instructor, a spanish speaker, saying **** in all sentences. Like talking about the anti-paludism pill.

I remember the man "hunting" fish with grenade (allways put some lure to see i fish is here).

And a lot of dangerous team exercice, like the evacuation of a wounded men which would be drown if teammates make any mistake.

The man who can't be able to maintain is knife without rust must stay one day stand up in center of boot camp, without food. And his teammates giving him secretly some food. :petting:

Yes a very impressive part of training.

If you mean the brazilian Jungle Warfare Center - or CIGS (Centro de Instrução de Guerra na Selva) you can visit the official site but it's portuguese only though
