Yah, I kinda need a self-defense pistol in the next coming days. I would LOVE an HK USP, but my limit is around $500... Sooo what do ya'll recommend. I'm lookin for a pretty good mag capacity and caliber. I hear the +P (9mm) is pretty good? A friend recommended Kahr, but that's devoid of coolness factor, lol.
Anyways, jus need ya'lls taste.

Ruger 9mm, the +p is a factor that you do not need to be bother with.

isn't that too big for self defense, too bulky?

CZ 75 are cheap and good, dunno the prices for a Glock in US but prolly just above 500 bucks.

Do you mean Conceal Carry or Home Defense?
Also, are there circumstances leading you to obtain a firearm to defend yourself with or you want a good reliable remote hole puncher that you can take to the range and keep around just in case? Or are you planning to go on "active defense" of crime fighting of some sort?
A lot of people I know choose Makarov for carry.
I personally like the line of Springfield XD models - they are cheap, ergonomic for most, have loads of options and funky calibers... Might be too thick for carry.
I'm a bit lost on the +p rounds - with greater kick and muzzle flash, one might as well go for a higher caliber/more powerful round... They are like Civics - you can sup them up, but at the price of longevity and price of ammo costs often that of the fancier calibers...

Conceal Carry, primarily... This is for a meeting of a couple I don't really trust this guy, never meet him, but I'm just being extra cautious, I had messed around with his wife, uh anyways, it's kinda a long story... lol
I jus fee the need to be ~armed~ :)

I'm gonna pretend I didn't just read that and stick with the advice lol :
try an XD40 . You really need to go to a gun-shop and try some out. The XD40 might be your best bet in terms of punch, size and affordability. These guns shoot great out of the box, true contenders to the glock series.
Don't rely on a firearm to keep you safe, rely on your common sense.

That XD40 looks nice, pretty much like a glock, and the $300 price is puuurfect. I might take this into consideration.
PS: Ammo! I had read about cor-bon, are they pretty lethal?

Like Stuka said, lots of people here in Kommiefornia use Makarovs for concealed carry. Good little pistols.
Other than that, I'd personally go search local pawn shops for a used SIG or something. Or Glock or whatever fits your hands with the biggest boolits comin' out the hole in the end. As long as it ends up working for you, not against you.

^ ^ unfortunately, I don't own a Makarov, I guess I gotta be towards Russia, huh. Anyways, that XD40 looks nice

For the situation you are describing I would recomment the makarov also. 9mm makarov is a smaller round but will easily disable him.
But more importantly have you really thaught this out? There is going to be a lot of court time if you kill or wound this guy. Is carrying a concealed weapon without a permit legal in the state you are meeting him? It may pay to set up a video in your car if possible so you have some evidence to support your story it was self defence if it comes to that. Or take a witness with you. Personally I wouldnt meet up with someone who may want to kill me without some support.

Bulgarian or East German Makarovs are GTG if you want a very cheap (yet still decent) pistol.
Glock 19s are fantastic, could probably get one for around 500ish if you tried.

Makarov are good and efficient pistols.
Dont weigh that much. Magazine capacity 8 rounds.
But if your trained, you dont need 8 rounds to disable a human.
If your not trained...well...i shall not involve myself any further.
Good Luck

What you should do then is come up with an alternative to meeting this guy in person. Is this meeting really necessary? Is this meeting so important that you are willing to risk an armed confrontation, even killing this person?
Maybe there is a better way to handle this situation?
As a civillian, you should never seek out a situation where you know there will be conflict. Avoiding conflict is a key tenet of self-defense.
Consider this scenario - you meet with this guy, one thing leads to another and you are forced to shoot him in self-defense. When you go to court the Judge and Jury will be looking at your actions to determine if they were reasonable. One thing (likely the first thing) they will look for is whether or not you took reasonable steps to avoid the conflict.
Even if you do everything right in a self-defense shooting, your legal fees will likely exceed $30,000 (and that's a very, very conservative figure). Not to mention you could be sued for wrongful death by his family, or sued by him if he is not killed.
Always avoid the conflict, and avoid the consequenses. If you think having a gun allows you to go places you would not ordinarily go, or do things you would not ordinarily do, then you will probably wind up in jail.
A gun does not solve a problem, it merely changes the outcome. In many ways, using a gun can make you a different kind of victim - you go from being the victim of a violent attack to a victim of the criminal justice system (and finally a victim of the physiological effects of a shooting).

Agree with the post ^....... just to ad, if this is to actually happen (shooting). The truth will eventually come out and if found out that you purchased the handgun for this reason and went to that encounter, well that's first degree murder (when you plan to kill someone even in weird situation). Not sure how's it is in Texas but in CA death penalty is max punishment.
All that aside, Have you considered snub nose revolver? .38 or .357mag are very ideal for close range..... I sold mine brand new (never even fired it) to a guy at work for $200.

WTF? "I need a gun in the next few days, see I might have to kill a jealous man because I used to lick his girlfriend and I don't really want to have a threesome".
Go peddle crazy somewhere else. We're full up here.

Could you lock this thread, CJ?
I gave my advice without knowing the intent and purpose - even though I had my suspisions.
I gave my recomendation as a sport gun first and a life saver second... I don't agree with guns used in such manner - obviously, you are seeking confrontation and an excuse to hurt this guy.
Meet him in a public place, fess up to what you did and be direct as possible - obviously, he's got infidelity issues at home. Or just avoid him and his wife from now on.
I'm not taking any more part in this gansta sh1t

I realise that she's "supposed" to be the hottie in her pics but Jesus H. Christ. Asking advice about a cheap gun to carry to a weird meeting with former lesbian lovers and their husbands is a little beyond the scope of the Equipment and Gear forum Mmmmmmkay babe?
And Moughoun, I too would like to see pics of said acts but not if it involves homicide.
Locked.
