I have found this grave stone on the excavation site in my city. Can someone help me with translation, what is written on it, any clue about it's age? I want to turn it to local museum but first I want to know as much as possible about it.

One question. Sorry for the Irrelevence:

Erm, what makes you think all Jews know Hebrew or that Non-Jews won't understand Hebrew? Don't you mean "Question For Hebrew-Speaking People"?

I asume it is old hebrew or ydish since this stone is probably from before WW2 or even older. Well I almost sure it is from before 1939. I know that polish language evolved a lot during this time and even for polish people it is sometimes hard to read 100years old polish texts, thus I assume only jews with good knowledge of language can help. But maybe I am wrong...

It says, "A Man that worshiped god
With many good ascents
Did for the poor with his good heart
Y'ishai Yenahem (I guess it's his name)."

You took the toombstone upside down . It reads :

"Man, fearfull (respectfull) of god
With good virtues
Charity maker with a kind heart"
The last line is kinda broken , I guess it's " Yeshay Menachem" ? (probably name ) .

Sorry I have found only those two pieces and amazingly they fited each other (they were found in two spearated points, I was sure lower part is missing but it seesm that upper one is missing..

Anyway thanks for translation. I will check tomorrow maybe I will find more pieces...

Man, I don't know what those guys are making up with their wildly inaccurate translations. I did an interweb translation, It says:

Don Grosfeld's Bagels
Today's special: 12 "everything" bagels, $1.25

Sale schmale, such prices every day!

Dang that is a bargain.

Erm, excuse me, but you are a moderator on this site? With a "sense of "humour" like that? And you wonder that people with something interesting to contribute are increasingly unwilling to post here? Sigh.
