Macedonian special operations forces are still in Iraq, but the current ones are a second contingent, which succeeded the ones pictured. I started a thread a few weeks back on Macedonians in Iraq. Do a search and there should be more information there.

Macedonia is an ancient empire for god sake...what happened to your fine Ukranian educational system? Macedonia was once apart of Yugoslavia, you grew up in the Eastern bloc, you should know this better than I p-)

never heard of it, blame the ****ing school system here. Instead of studying we sit in circles and the teacher reads books to us from 1st to 6th grade,

Actually the Macedonia we know today is different from the old Macedonia. The old Macedonia was situated somewhere where Greece is now, and was known for it's leader Alexander the Great...

Macedonia! woot
http://www.archq.org/images/maps/macedonia.gif
The old macedonians(Alexanser the Great, Aristoteles) were ethnic greeks although that old Macedonia was the northest territory of ancient Greece and in some way macedonians were regarded as a rustic, if not barbars, by the most refined poeple of Athens.
Macedonia of today is a territory that only occupy part of ancient Macedonia, the other part is a Greeceīs region, and was one of the republics who made the former Yugoslavia. The people who lives there arenīt greeks but ethnic slaves, and the language they talk is related closely to Bulgarian more than the servo-croatian of their former compatriots, well, thatīs what a macedonian student told me once, perhaps Iīm wrong about the language.
