I think the term "God awful" applies rather well to the default theme. I'm shopping around for other ones right now. I'm always open to suggestions if someone finds one.

Just an update for what Hood has said:
The conversion went rather well and all of the threads and user accounts that existed in the last board are now here. It's important that all users go into their user profiles however and configure their settings. Most of the settings and avatars didn't come over and need to be setup by all of you.
Here's a list of things that still need to be done that I can think of so far:
1. Fixing smilies so the old ones are listed.
2. Get a new theme for the board so it looks like the old board.
3. Get the front page working again where it shows the latest 20 threads from each section.

I'm geting used to that quickly, but entries take to much space on the page if I have 2 short posts on my 1600x1200 screen, it means something is realy wrong with the theme :)

Just an update for what Hood has said:
I can point out some more:
It doesn't do quotes inside quotes, yet.
old shortcut ALT+keys don't workIf that isn't true, please tell me how to do it.
On the other side, the WYSIWYG editor is nice. So I think it's a matter of time before Hood implements all of these.
Now, back to subscribe to my old threads :confused:

Here is a military example. That looks nice and tidy.
That does look nice. A Multicam/Coyote Brown type theme would look good to me. But I'm game for whatever. I'm just glad the transition went smoothly and everything is working again. Kudos Hood.:)

In case you don't remember, signatures were disabled on the old forum. I don't see any reason why Hood wouldn't disable them on this one as well.

Hood pulled in the information from our old profiles when he moved the board to the new software. Anyone who had a signature entered in their profile --- even though it wasn't visible in the open forum ---- not have a signature in this profile. But we can not add, delete, or edit them because that option is disabled.
I'd like to remove mine from my profile, but can't find an option to do so.

By the way, I think search engine does not work, or works awkwardly. When I tried to find the topic "Soviet Nose/Tail Art" with the keyword "Soviet" it did not find any matches.. Tried with "Nose", "Art" and "Tail" did not find either.

haha :) nope mate. I just entered "lenin + militaryphotos" to google and opened the first link found by it with "cache". Try it yourself, easy way to reach old archives ;)

Like it a lot how it looks like this morning. Hood's already improved many things. I can see it's heading forward an evolution and not just like a change. Plus all the features we don't see but we'll experience in time (more advanced post moderation, ... ).

you can always add them manually, or click on "Go Advanced" to open the standard editor with the smiles and stuff.

When I open my homepage....http://www.militaryphotos.net.....the site isnt loading smoothly at all...some areas are loading new posts and so on.....when I access the individual section I can see new posts and so on....but aprt from that....it is not operrating correctly at the main site....not updating the new threads...they are the smae for the most part as when I first launched it this morning....help please!

why just copy another theme? Especially from another military site! Aside from that professionalsoldiers.com looks much to dark and boring.
mp.net should stick to it's look (more or less). And this fits mp.net.

As stated before the threads from the old mp.net are not indexed in the search function.
Im thinking this is a damn shame because its a library of information witch should be axcessible. Being able to find stuff that has been posted before is in my opinion the "soul" of mp.net...
I wish somebody would take this seriously and make the search function usefull again, or even better than before.
The people who complains that complained in previous posts that "the last thing mp.net needs is more downtime" needs to rethink theire statements.
People who cant go 1-4 days without mp.net im afraid falls into the category of "more time on their hands than usefull info to contribute to the board"
