AMSTERDAM (*******) - Two rocket-propelled grenades were fired on the Dutch embassy in Baghdad on Friday but no one was hurt in the attack, the Dutch Foreign Ministry said.
"Nobody was in the office, thankfully, and there are no casualties," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Martine de Haan said.
"Two rocket-propelled grenades were fired and the embassy building is on fire," she said. De Haan added that it was not yet known who was responsible for the attack.
Earlier on Friday evening in central Baghdad, a roadside bomb exploded at an intersection but there were no immediate reports of casualties. It was not immediately clear if they were one and the same incident.
The Netherlands has 1,100 troops in Iraq, in the British-controlled Al Muthanna province in the south. The Dutch parliament agreed last month to extend their mission by six months, ending in July 2004.
