That kids a stud for sure! I've paddled and swam in those waters. It's cold and there are some nasty currents.

Nice swim.

Unfortunately, if anyone is asking themselves p-) , that may have not been the fate of the three immates that escaped Alcatraz 40 years ago. The problem, besides the temperature, is the current in the San Francisco bay area. It changes direction and speed dramatically depending on the hour of the day and the season of the year. Apparently at the time of the escape (sunrise), the currents were flowing toward the ocean plus wind factor and cold temperatures. I remember watching a documentary about it. They made advanced simulations of the current flow, which used clues from the artefact remains carried by the escapees. It didn't show them floating to the coast. They also made a swimming test hiring a expert swimmer, to swim at the same hour and conditions (water temperature, wind, etc.) as the original escape day. He had to abort just 15 min after the start because it was too cold. The conclusion of the test is they probably drowned and, based on the model-computer simulation and some dummies they used, their remains were sunk by the current until finally released well in open seas (fish food). That's why they never found their bodies.

but they made it out!

Shortly after, they were caught by the CIA and transported to an unknown location. There they were mutated into elite super soldiers.

They were called...Delta.

Well as marino said, this kid came along at the a suitable time, since the seals are out doing more agressive recruting theese days.

PS. A couple of years ago me and a friend of mine got into trouble when we tried to swim out and around a small island. We were halfway when we found out we had seriously underestimated how far it was and how exhausting the swim was with the currents and all.
we got back safe, but learnt a leasson that day.

**Witch was always have Newmie and david hasselhoff on standby**
