I believe the KPA general who defected and escaped to China must have taken something along with him, for, at the express demand of the NK government, the Chinese military is now on its thirteenth day of hunting him down.

Day-13, Chinese Police on Search for a NK Military Escapee
[Border Report] Official Order from North Korea, Search will Continue

The search for an escaped North Korean military official around the Sino-Korean border areas by Chinese police, which has started on September 28, is now on thirteenth day.

The Chinese border control soldiers are conducting house-search in the cities of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture such as Sanhe, Baijin and other border cities and the road inspection on the highway that connects to Yenji is also still taking place.

A Chinese police officer who demanded anonymity said, “the current searching activity is due to the official request from the North Korean government, which will continue until the suspect is arrested. According to the message from North Korea, there is a high possibility that the suspect is armed, so this is the reason why the (Chinese) border military is specially in charge of this matter.”

A church member active in assisting food to the North Korean defectors in Longjing city said, “Even if the suspect is armed, it is an unprecedented event for the border military to carry out a search for such a long time. In fact, unless there is a gunshot accident or burglary, there was no previous occasion where the border military carried out a search of a North Korean defector.”

For this reason, the NGO activists and missionaries active in the Longjing area predict with caution that the suspect must be a special level military officer or a general rather than an ordinary soldier.”

I think he should return to DPRK and turn himself in. Dear Leader will surely forgive him and extend his warm fatherly love to him.

Thanks for the article!

I hope to God he's a good at hide and seek because if he's caught there will be a charming re-education centre just for him. God speed to him.

He's just sarcastic.
This man obviously has some combat survival and evasion knowledge or else he wouldn't be able to escape for two full weeks. That or south korean agents have picked him up allready.
