I want to go to Airborne School after Basic when I join the Army, can anyone with experience on the subject tell me how hard it is? Is it eaiser than Basic? Harder? Was it fun to do a live jump?

I haven't been to the school, hopefully im going soon, but dont be troubled about it... Basic is three and a half moths long, airborne is only 3 weeks, and if you pay attention to everything you are told, you will do good on the jumps, which is the only hard part about it. They dont require any special physical exercises like road marches and obstacle courses like in Air Assault, but you do have to have 250 on PT test to attend... which is not hard to get considering youll get smoked a lot in Basic ;)

Dimitri, dont know if your in the US, but US Army basic is only 6 weeks. USMC boot-camp is 13 weeks, they do vary from time to time by a couple of weeks.
From what Ive heard Airborne school is fairly easy-going, as long as you don't mind jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.....

Actually by 3.5 months I meant Basic and AIT (initial training for the infantry), but the Basic is actually 9 weeks, and Ait is 5 weeks long, but in Infantry, contrary to other specialities, it doesn't matter because there Ait is just the continuation of the Basic Training so they kinda come together ;) I finished both last September woot

Im an airdog. BAC physically is every other day calisthenics and running with the weekends off. if you're in shape, its a cake walk. Try to get your Bloodwings if you can.
