I would not even bring myself to watch that horrendous excuse for a movie. It’s cash in to milk the North American population off of big explosions, coarse language and ***. What ever happened to a film with substance? Dear god....

mystic river was a good time.
I was disappointed with the last LOTR film.
Not completely, but on some parts I have to agree... they took out the entire ending where the Shire gets screwed up... also the last battle at Minas Tirith was way too short. Maybe they should have cut up the movie in 2 parts or something like that.

So...

I don't mind going for the Hollywood's hype up big car explosions and gun crazy maniacs once in a while...there is only so much drama and "artsy-fartsy" one can take before it become tedious.
My 2003 list:
1. Last Samurai
2. My Sassy Girl
3. Lover's Concerto
4. Lost in Translation
5. Hero
6. Secondhand Lions
7. Good Bye, Lenin!
8. Under the Tuscan Sun
9. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
10. The Human Stain

Last Samurai
Kill Bill Vol. I
LOTR: Return Of The King

In no particular order these are the films i enjoyed
Kill Bill
Finding Nemo
Pirates of the Carribean
American Pie 3
Bad Boys 2
S.W.A.T(only gets in because it was so bad it was good)
Tears of the Sun
The Matrix films i would not even use to wipe my dirty a hole with.
Oh and a film is not about igniting intellectual discussion or any of that crap, a good film is one which a lot of people enjoy. Films are ENTERTAINMENT. Finding Nemo is hardly an example of a film designed to provoke intelligent discussion and what not. It is however very enjoyable for all ages which makes it a good film.

Your list did suck ducimus. I try and not limit my films to shotguns, explosions and silly action hero cliche crap. Not to mention childish humour and and poorly developed 'family dramas'
Pirates of the Caribbean
Finding Nemo. I dont care for disney and their social sterotypes. Not exactly a great choice for impresionable youth.
Lord Of The Rings: The Return of the King I have not seen it.
The Last Samurai
Seabiscuit -Great Film, yet not worthy of my top 10
Radio - Has the "forest gump, I am Sam" theme not been overplayed?
Master & Commander-Dry, bland, horribly unaccurate and a shame to the true novel. I enjoined the Galapagos Islands nontheless.
Kill Bill - I have not seen it, nor do I want to. As I have heard, its a violent blood fest from start to finish. Quentin Tarrentino is oddly held in such high regard when all of his "crime dramas" lack envolving scripting.
Go watch those before your next anti-everything thread.

I only like the movies the critics hate. LOTR: Return of the King gets my vote for numero uno. Master and Commander kicked ass, Dumb and Dumberer was freaking hilarious, and Pirates of the Carribean was cool too. But my all time favorite movies since the year 2000 have to be:
1. The Patriot (With Mel Gibson, not Steven Segal)
2. We were Soldiers (1,500 x more acurately portrayed than BHD.

Yes because the British are so evil and uncaring, yet it was the American the movie was based on that raped and killed indian women for fun and abused his family. Yeah, real family man.
And so was the Patriot 2: Vietnam was also full of ****.

We were Soldiers follows the book with the same title alot more closely than BHD ever did. Practically the entire movie was warped and Matt Eversman was completely destroyed to fit the needs of Matt Damon (What's his name again?). I know, the Patriot wasn't entirely acurate according to history, but it was still a great American film that instills pride in all of us and proves that we can kick ass in any war. The main part I liked about it was because it's practically the only Revolutionary War movie out there. Also, it wasn't all sexed up like all the other movies. Saving Private Ryan was another movie I liked. But my favorite movie of ALL time, has to go the LOTR series. You will never find a more decent, good vs. bad movie out there; hands down.

1812, lost the WhiteHouse, shot hell out of the 42ndat New Orleans. Sorry my Highlander pals. They left, we lost nothing.

I also consider any civil war a 'lost war' when in fact, an entire nation’s populous resort to bloody conflict and arbitrary destruction, some of which is the worst the world has even seen. The confederate portion of the USA was in fact devastated by its industrialized northern component, effectively defeating and subduing a large portion of the United States of America.

The fennian raids were an attempt by the Irish to set an uprising in Canada which could in-turn be used within Canada as a means of holding ransom the nation against the British government as leverage for changes in Ireland. Other such American instigations that brought our nations close to war include the 'Trent affair' and the Canadian ‘harboring’ of 'southern' bank robbers and criminals.

Last Saummarai was my favorute.
Master and Commander was good too......again all the movies with historical backgrounds are good - I don t like to watch comedy moveis at the theatres..I can watch comdey movies at my tv at home .
Comedy movies aren t worth to look at the theatres, there are no special effects in them and it s the same to watch them on your TV at home when they come out .
War movies. action movies , historical movies are great to watch at the theatres ,,,,you see huge battlefields on that big screen gives you some feeling-
watching SAving private ryan in the theatres was more impressive to watch it on tv.
But a comedy in the theater or to watch on Tv ,,,,,,,,it s the same so I don t give money for it to watch at cinemas

I think they did one in the 60s little big man,.........but I never saw it
they should also think about to make more movies about historical events like Waterloo or VErdun 1916
