US Army Jazz Ambassadors

I had the opportunity last night to see the Jazz Ambassadors, the jazz ensemble of the US Army Field Band. They tour the US & internationally as a public relations gig for the Army & jazz. The shows are FREE . They were a real pleasure to see & hear. They covered a pretty good range of stuff, from Dixieland to Dizzy Gillespie to Duke Ellington.

My former jazz guitar teacher plays in the Jazz Knights, at the USMA. Mark Tonelli joined last year as a SPC, now he is a SSG! WOW!

And the vocalist for the Jazz Ambassadors is from the same place I grew up, Denison, TX. woot
